Help with Senior Schedule?

I’m a rising senior and I have no idea what major I’d like to pursue in college. I’ve been talking to some of my friends and they’ve recommended some classes for me but I honestly don’t know what I want to take and I want a second (or third) opinion.

I’m also planning on having either early release or late arrival, so if I get one or the other, I’d have a free block.
First, the core classes:

  • Honors American History II: I took American History I this year (junior year), and I need to take American History II to graduate. Kinda bummed because that means I can take two less AP courses that I'm genuinely interested in.
  • AP Statistics: I'm taking AP Calc AB/BC this year (my school puts the two courses together into one year). But I don't know if I'm genuinely interested in statistics. I've never had any experience with it and I've heard it's more writing than actual math. I have enough math credits to not have to take Statistics, but it just doesn't feel right to not take a math course.
  • AP Lit & Comp: I'm doing well in AP Lang right now and I like analyzing texts. This class is a definite yes.
  • I'm not taking any science courses senior year, as I have all the credits necessary to graduate, I'm not good at science, and I don't plan on pursuing any science-related major in college. I don't know if this'll hurt me when I apply for colleges, so maybe I should be taking a science?
  • Orchestra (Chamber): I've been in Orchestra since sixth grade and I enjoy playing in an orchestra.

The classes that aren’t core classes but I don’t’ know what else they’d be:

  • AP Human Geography: I heard this class gives you a couple college credits. I'm not interested in Human Geography but the teacher for it is really good.
  • AP Macroeconomics: a filler class (?) I can't take any other APs, and none of the other courses interest me. I'm honestly only putting this here because if I do get it, I'll take microeconomics online and get my economics credit for college.
  • AP Computer Science A: I took principles last year (sophomore year) and I really enjoyed it. Furthermore, I genuinely want to learn some of the basics of java.
  • Honors PLTW: Principles of Engineering: I'm in Introduction to Engineering this year, and I don't hate it quite yet. Again, I don't know what I plan on majoring in college, so who knows, maybe after this class I'll want to be an engineer.

My alternative courses are AP US government, Help Desk (you basically just sit in the library and organize stuff), Civil Engineering and Architecture (another PLTW), and 21st century global geography.

I’m also planning on taking AP Latin online and AP micro if I get AP macro this year. Are these too many APs? I’m taking five this year so maybe I should be dialing it back as it is my last year and I don’t want to study and stress too much. Should I take some classes out?

Definitely take a foreign language and science class (with a lab), colleges look for that senior year. I’d replace AP Human Geogroahy with one of those classes. I’m in AP Statistics now, and it’s mostly plugging into formulas and is not very hard… Maybe try taking differential equations (online or at a community college if not offered at your school) instead of AP Stat, that is what many students after BC take.

Remember you will apply to colleges senior year, which will suck up all your time so I wouldn’t reccomend self studying for any APs. If AP Macro is just a filler, I’d recommend not taking it as you already have a social science course.

Keep in mind most private schools may not accept a lot of AP credit.

Good luck!
