I just recently took my first SAT, and by my standards I did very poorly.

Reading - 650
Math - 520
Writing - 520

My goal is to achieve a 1900 or a 2000, but that seems far off judging from my recent test.

How much could I possibly raise my writing and math skills and what should I study the most?

I have one word: Practice. Practice what, you might be wondering. Well I’m glad that you asked. Practice PROBLEMS, and a whole lot of them! Take every single review book that you can, and get cracking. Learn all the writing rules that you need to know for the grammer, like parallelism, subject-verb agreement, the passive voice…etc. For Math, all you can do is learn the rules that apply to the problems that you get wrong.

Agreed. Practice makes perfect is not a cliche for no reason.
Even if you don’t see progress after some practice, don’t get upset. Practice more.
After that, if you aren’t satisfied, guess what you should do? Practice some more.

Do you have the Blue Book? If not, you should try and get a copy. It has 10 released practice exams that could help you immensely. They also have explanations as to why a particular answer is write online, so if you ever have a question, you could always refer to that resource.

Aside from that, I have to agree with my peers here: practice, practice, practice. And practice some more.

Oky, thanks guys !!
