Help with transfer

I'm in a little bit of a sticky situation, I hope to transfer to the College of Engineering Winter 2015. I'm currently attending Oakland Community College where I'm fulfilling prereqs for the school; Engineering physics etc... I have a 3.9 GPA and have absolute confidence I will be able to keep it that way. The only issue I face is time constraints, with a full course load through the next 3 semesters including summer, I will only be able to complete in the area of 48 transferable credits which worries me credit requirements.

If anybody could offer any advice as far as my chances or if I should delay it would be much appreciated.

Is there any chance you could maybe take a couple summer courses in 2014? If you can fit in an extra 6 or 7 credits to get into the 55 range, you’d have a great shot. Even with 48 credits, I’d say your grade point would certainly be convincing.

Make sure that you’re taking the pre-reqs for the Engineering program, and try to do especially well in those courses. If the ‘time constraints’ you’ve mentioned are things like extracurriculars or a part/full-time job, even better. Don’t overdo it, maintain a good balance, and do well. If you don’t end up getting in for Winter 2015, apply again in the Fall. If you don’t get in for Winter your chances would be even better with more credits and experience.

I’m already booked for summer 2014, i’ll be taking a full load of prereq classes. By the time I apply I’ll have all the Engineering department’s requirements fulfilled except for differential equations which I’ll be taking when I apply.

I’ve also been invited to join my chapters honor society which I am considering joining. There is a possibility I can SI for some classes but I haven’t worked out the details or if it would help me with admission.

I’m pretty sure Michigan doesn’t have a credit requirement to transfer. I applied during my freshman year and just started at Michigan for my sophomore year. I’d certainly apply with what you have! You probably have a pretty good shot :)

I’m in LSA though, COE may be different.
