HELP! Worried about acceptance being rescinded.

HHFKDSJFDSKL
I have probably the most incompetent AP Stats teacher who does nothing but twiddle her thumbs during class.
Regardless, I have let my grade [the last time I checked] to a D+ because I no longer understand the subject even conceptually.
I was accepted to Ithaca College-- and will probably be going there-- UNLESS I get my acceptance rescinded because of this failing grade!

I am thinking about writing a letter to the Office of Admissions about my situation-- that I am in danger of getting a D in an AP class. However, i am more than willing to retake the class at Cal State Fullerton or another community college. I have never failed a class before-- nor have I ever had a grade lower than a B. But I don't know how to explain myself without seeming incompetent or like a loser student who is whining about a teacher. Furthermore, should I even be writing to them or will that just bring more attention to my situation...

I have a 3.45 GPA unweighted [what I sent in] but after this D, I don't know anymore.
Second Semester:
AP Rhet: A
Journalism: A
Spanish IV: B-
Civics: B+
AP Stats: D+!

PLEASE HELP!!!

Just bring it up fourth quarter (which shouldn't be too hard to average out). Colleges don't see third quarter grades (usually).

If you can bump it up even just a bit by the end of the semester, you're in the clear (assuming semester or year grades appear on your transcript, not quarter grades). A D is a red flag, but if you can bump it up to a C, even, and keep your other grades stable, you're in the clear.
