Help

Hey, could some current Andover, Exeter, Deerfield student just tell me their grades, SSATS, and extracurriculars, so I could compare them to my own, and see my chances of getting in?

Ok, 6th grade year, I got mostly A’s with some B’s. I volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and the local food shelter. I also played soccer. 7th and 8th grade years I got straight A’s.Best of luck to you!

Thanks! Anybody else? Please answer?

From an interview point of view - you’ll need to show those grades were in the past and you’re escalating towards straight A’s. The question is - if you aren’t able to master the material at your own school how can they be sure you’ll be able to achieve it at boarding school.

Some schools have harder curriculums than others so the grades are not viewed in isolation. Mostly schools are evaluating you as a “whole person” and not just grades and stats. And not all students learn the same way, or process information. So recommendations, outside activities, passion, and just how you function as a person and would fit within the student body counts for as much.

That’s why you’ll see students with perfect grades and scores get turned down and some with less than perfect grades and scores get in.

Be assured, however - every case - the schools are pretty certain the students have the aptitude to master BS academics before sending out an acceptance letter.

Do your best, but no one can tell you for sure if you’re eligible or not. Just too many other variable having nothing to do with grades.
