You should probably seek for an EECS program. I don’t know what’s “architectural engineering” doing there though. Couldn’t you fill your interest in “architectural engineering” with math?

Architectural engineering is supposed to be the bridge between architecture and engineering in the sense of doing both. It’s pretty much what it’s supposed to be. Pretty unrelated to computer engineering… and maybe science, depending which one you would want to do.

CompE and Science? Sure, if you are willing to put more than 4 years for it. Minor in ArchE at the same time? Wasteful. Do either or.

Get a degree in Computer Engineering. You will get some software courses along with your hardware courses and if that is the path you choose to pursue in the future, you can always get a M.S. in Computer Science (hopefully paid for by your employer).

My younger son got his Computer Engineering degree, did a lot of programming on the side and took technical electives in Computer Science. He immediately got a job on the software side after graduating in 2010 despite the horrible economy.
