Help!!!

Hey everyone,

I have a bit of a problem.

I just submitted my first college application using the common app, and I noticed this:

In the race section I marked white because 1) that's what I consider myself and 2)that's my mom's race.
Thing is, I also truthfully filled out the parent info. My dad is from India and his name shows it. The truth is that my mom and dad have been divorced my whole life, and I really barely know my dad. I don't really associate with being indian, so I marked white. But now I'm wondering if ii should have done something differently.

So, since that first app is already in, do you think this will hurt me?
And, do you think I should change my race for the next round of applications?

Thanks!

Many people from India are white, so what’s the problem? You identify as white, so you’re fine. You’re not American Indian, so what else would you check??

Asian?

No problem. You filled it out correctly.

Thanks!
