Help!

I turned down my dream college because I was told I was "too good" for it. I went to the private college everyone wanted me to go to. Now I am having major anxiety issues.

I really want to leave but the university I am currently in is ranked in the top 20. I just hate everything about this school. The small size, the attitude of the student body, the location. I feel as if I ignored everything I wanted in a college in order to satisfy the people around me and now I am paying the price.

Is going to my dream school (a public state school), even though it is not nearly as prestigious, worth transferring or should I just suck it up? Is happiness reason enough?

My advice for now is to try and make your current school work. Transfer applications aren’t due until late winter/early spring of next year, so don’t even think about transferring until winter break. The transition to college is difficult, so give yourself time to adapt to a new environment, be outgoing and join activities.

Yes, happiness is important because people usually do better academically and socially if they’re content. But you owe it to yourself to give your school a chance, you’re likely to have even more regret if you don’t.
