<p>For the past year or so, I uploaded my AP Chemistry lab reports onto a public sharing site (Scribd) so students could use them if they were ever stuck on an aspect. As a struggler in AP Chemistry (with an awful teacher who did nothing), I thought it would be nice if I too, could help someone else. </p>
<p>I've received a ton of great comments from readers, but the truth is, we all know students will eventually just copy these lab reports, despite my warnings not to do so, because some aspects of the report may be incorrect (300% error anyone?). </p>
<p>Will the uploading of my lab reports harm me in anyway during the college admissions? (I've hid them from the public viewing for now).</p>
<p>Will it hurt you in admissions? Who knows? Is it a good idea to share your lab reports? I would say not. Is it a good idea to share your lab reports that have a wide margin or error? Are you kidding? Are you aware that some would consider this a form of cheating? Despite what you seem to have thought was an act of altruism, I’d remove it permanently and resist the urge to ‘help’ others in the future. A study group is one thing. I think this is another thing altogether.</p>
<p>Haha point noted. Although you must admit that not all lab reports are the same; teachers have different requirements. But I do believe that taking them down would be a better idea.</p>
<p>And as for the 300% error, that was one lab where our spectrometer was getting too old and not giving valid readings. I believe one year, the error went up to the powers of ten. Some schools omit the spectrometer lab because they can’t find one since it’s so expensive.</p>

<p>I still recommend taking them down. To some, it just crosses the line between study group (let me show you the steps of how I got #15 in Calc), and cheating.</p>
<p>I agree with those who say it could be considered a cheat site, and you should take it down. What you consider “help,” is what I would call “helping others to cheat”.</p>
