Just wondering if anyone knows the timing for merit aid. My daughter was just accepted to Hendrix and we're curious about whether she might receive some merit aid. Several scholarship applications are due Feb. 1, so are we right to think she might not here more until after that date? Or did other folks get merit aid with their acceptance packets? Any insight would be appreciated... she's had great feedback from admissions and came close to qualifying for the Hayes Scholarship (barely missed the ACT cut off score) so we're thinking her chances might be good for some kind of merit aid. Thanks in advance!

My (Hendrix sophomore) daughter's initial merit aid info came at a later date than her acceptance packet, so I believe you are right to think your daughter may not hear more until after the scholarship deadline. Don't forget that Hendrix gives $1000 for early FAFSA filers! :-)

My son received his merit letter about a week after his acceptance letter.

My S received his merit scholarship letter in late January, 5 days after his acceptance letter.

I found out how much merit aid I received less than a week after the initial letter.

If your child barely missed the Hayes scholarship, I can guarantee you with 100% confidence she'll receive merit aid. I got $12,000 a year in merit aid, and I am a horrible applicant (30 ACT, 3.00 weighted GPA with 2 F's on my transcript, and there's nothing special about me).

So, yes, expect merit aid for sure...and very likely a lot more than I got.
