Can someone explain to me how HEOP works at NYU please?
Also, does NYU automatically consider you for HEOP or is there a seperate application?
Thanks

What is HEOP?

http://www.nyu.edu/op/heop.html
this site should answer your questions

Wow..., I love how I don't qualify for HEOP even though I have 6 people in my family and my parents make less than $20000 just because I took the intiative to study my butt off for the SATs and pulled off a 1420. Yay.

ya this is so stupid. you have to have sat score between 1000 and 1250....i mean...why??

ok - its not stupid. its obviously oriented towards those who didn't have a strong background in whatever subject.

I feel compelled to say you're stupid.

umm...no. It is you who are the idiot. I was implying that someone who gets 990 on the SAT or 1260 on the SAT will not able to participate in the program, which is pretty unfair.

So just shut up and sit down ok?

@ihavenolife I see where you are coming from but I think the point is the student wouldn’t have a chance at normal decision because of the disadvantage. odin64x congrats on the 1420! While I understand your frustration you would be more than able to get into NYU with that score so even though you are disadvantaged you don’t need the extra kick to get in. Btw I just realized this is from 2007…awks
