Does it? I visited, but I didn’t see the cemetery at Deerfield.

SPS has a cemetary, too.

@mrnephew We only saw it 'cause we got lost and drove right by Admissions. I remember someone saying that Deerfield has poor signage…

Some sort of trend going on here, there is one near The Hill School also.

Must be all those kids they say were expelled…

And of course, there are cemeteries at Andover and Choate, too.

You guys are so funny. :)

…and your comment about us being funny made me laugh, PhotoMom! What goes around, comes around.

Are you related to photodad? I mean… yeah.

Nope, I was wrong. They’re the kids who were waitlisted and were dying to get in.

I absolutely love you stargirl. I’m laughing my head off right now.

Ha!! That was great. Yeah, Deerfield has bad signs.

Creds to my mom for that last one, but I love you too. And so does my mom! <3

Thacher is without a doubt my favorite. I absolutely love it. Could someone chance me? I realize that I will obviously have to wait for March 10th, but if someone could give me an idea of where I stand that would be great. I am also applying to Loomis Chaffee.

I have all As with two B pluses last year (which I explained in my interviews). I am a Student Ambassador, tutor a fifth grader each week in math, tour guide at my school, volunteer at a school in the fifth ward, volunteered last year at Kid’s Meals, run a website for suicide awareness, have high honors, scored seventh in the NFS, was runner-up for student council president last year, and am involved in two of our biggest academic projects this year. I play polo and field hockey. I am also on the swim team and compete in saddleseat. I have various awards in that discipline and help our younger riders at the barn. I scored in the 88th percentile on my SSAT.

I don’t know if anyone will reply to this, but it would be appreciated!! Thanks.

@usernamess- You sound like a delightful kid, but I created this thread as an alternative to “Chances”. If either school has an interesting feature (such as a cemetery… Cough), please by all means write about it. If you want to start your own thread, I’m sure many kind people will weigh in. I wish you all the best and hope you get wonderful news M10!

@photographermom-
Thanks so much, I am so sorry!! I think that Loomis’ writing program is extraordinary and would be honored to be a part of it. I love to write and oh my gosh, wow. The location is also stunning. Really. Thacher amazes me with it’s riding program, outdoors program, and academics. I love that everyone is involved in all three of those things. I know that not everyone continues the riding program, but the whole combination of all of those things for at least that first year seems like a perfect fit.

No problem, usernamess! Thanks for your post!!

Berkshire - for the rows of solar panels and the AMSR advanced math and science research program.
Putney - for the barn of course.
But then, I’m only a parent.
@PelicanDad, what about Fountain Valley School of Colorado? They have an indoor riding arena for snow days.

It’s not just at prep schools… I remember Grove street cemetery at Yale… Hmm…
more kids dying to get in. :D

Yep, Fountain Valley is on our list for next go-round!

I’ve been to FVS open house, actually twice, past January and in October couple years ago. Liked it both. I Would recommend attending one of those. My kids loved the food , but alas not horse people. They are revamping their music program and has jazz and string ensembles but doesn’t have an orchestra. (bummer for mine)
