Race and gender?
Intended major?

You are in at UIUC and Michigan.

Asian male-biochemistry

Geeeee…z

Columbia: Reach
Northwestern: Reach but good chances
Brown: Reach but better chances
Princeton: Reach
Yale: Reach
Harvard: Reach
University of Chicago:Reach (Essays are important for Chicago)

Asian + Male + Biochem (sounds like pre-med) = 3 strikes

You need to have many more schools on your list. (<- I know what I am talking about.)

Vanderbilt: Less Asian population. I think they are number oriented
ND: Low Asian population
Duke: No additional essay
Wash U: No additional essay

LACs
Swarthmore: Good science programs
Carleton: Good science programs and low Asian population
Middlebury: Low Asian population

I don’t think you need a safety school since you have UIUC. Are you applying to UIUC Bio Eng program?

Your stats are good. Your ACT is amazing  . You’re definitely qualified, but getting in the ivy league is not a game of certainty. You have a good chance of getting in to the last three schools you listed.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1169076-please-chance-me-ivy-league-stanford-duke.html</a></p>

Your ECs are what makes you stand out. I’d say Chicago is a fit because of your research. It’s are not as profound a school as the Ivies, but it is top notch in research. Michigan and UIUC are matches too.

The rest are reaches, and believe it or not your race does hurt you :(

chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1167916-too-high-just-right-chance-me-please-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

What are the intended majors that make adcoms so “There’s another one…” ?

anyone???

Columbia -mid/low reach
Northwestern -high match
Brown -lower reach
Princeton -mid/low reach
Yale -mid/low reach
Harvard -mid/low reach
University of Chicago -high match
University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign -high match
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor -high match

You’ll probably get into most, if not all of the non-Ivies. Your ACT and GPA are amazing, so I’d say you’ll get into at least one of the Ivies, if not a few. I doubt you’ll make all of them though. Ivies are very unpredictable.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1165818-chance-incoming-senior-fordham-nyu-barnard-ivies-2.html</a></p>

=]

Hey, you look like you are a solid candidate. Being a male Asian won’t hurt you as much as you think, take it from a male Asian who got into Columbia  Relax, your scores are phenomenal. Focus on your essays, I can’t tell you how important they are.

Columbia high Reach
Northwestern low reach
Brown mid reach
Princeton high reach
Yale high reach
Harvard high reach
University of Chicago low reach/high match (if you write great essays, may be a match)

As 20more suggests, Vanderbilt and Notredame are good bets.

“Being a male Asian won’t hurt you as much as you think”

Yes, it does.

Last year: Asian male with 36 ACT and 4.0UWGPA and multiple 800s and National winner of the competition that OP mentioned was rejected/waitlisted from EVERY selective college.

This year: Asian male with 2400 SAT, 4.0UWGPA, multiple 800s and national level recognition was initially waitlisted/rejected from SM and EVERY IVY colleges that he applied. (I think he got into one of the lower Ivy schools off the waitlist.)

I was lucky enough to get accepted from Chicago and few other selective colleges with 2380 SAT, 35ACT 800-800-780 SAT II and 3.96UWGPA from more rigorous course load than OP. But, I was waitlisted/rejected from SM and EVERY IVY colleges that I applied.

I can add few more examples from my HS.

Yes, being an Asian male will hurt your chances.
