Okay so for Science Olympiad I'm doing Disease Detectives. (In NJ.) And last year I tried it and my friend and I epic failed at it. Like, completely we faked the entire thing. :) So if you guys have any tips of what to study, that would be fabulous. I figured I'd ask all you genius CC kids. Sorry if this is the wrong forum and THANK YOU!

Well, I haven’t done Science Olympiad since 8th grade, but what I did for it was get the rules, research as much as I could into the topics that were given and compile a binder with everything in it. I found old tests online to help get an idea for what to expect and booknoted all of the articles I had. I then compiled a notes packet to study from. I made some practice tests too a while before the competition so that I could take them the week or so before. I managed three 1st places (Awesome Aquifer, Water Quality, and Bridge Building) in state and a 3rd (Mission Possible).

Study epidemiology in general , and how to read samples of diseases (I remember we had a question on that last year). It’s an epidemiology event, essentially, just memorization and knowing how to do things.

Okay, thanks everyone! This was very helpful. :D
