Hey Aspen And Mot!!!!!

Moooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

Thanks for the heads up Shogun.

It's hard to believe that our trio of Cadets have finished their Yuk year(2nd year) and are now Cows (3rd year cadet)!

We dropped off our son this morning at the airport for first his Summer duty assignment. He's excited about getting a month with the 25th Infantry Division. Especially when the duty station is Hawaii. Wonder how long it will take him to find out that his $300 a month pay doesn't go very far in the high cost of living Hawaii?

Mooooo back at ya', shogun!

These 2 years have absolutely flown by! Our daughter called today from the first day of her first summer assignment. She had an incredible day and can't wait for tomorrow. Freedom during evenings and weekends, restaurants, a kitchen in her room, tv, and dvd player - almost makes up for plebe year - well, maybe not, but it's great.

Cool, MOT!!!! Give her our best!!!!!

MOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MOT,

Glad your daughter is enjoying her summer duty assignment. I just got an email from our son who is doing his summer duty assignment in Hawaii with the 25th infantry division. He left for Hawaii with visions of large blocks of free time on the beach and touring the islands. His dreams were quickly shattered when his supervising officer informed him that he would be doing 12hour shifts everyday since there was an upcoming manuever that required a lot of planning. So far he has worked every day, including weekends, and this morning he reported at 3:30am for a 4am to 4pm shift.

While he says he's learning a lot, he hopes the pace slows a little so that he can have some time to explore Hawaii.

He says if this keeps up he'll look forward to returning to West Point for some relaxation and a chance to work on his tan.

I'm glad she didn't get to go to Hawaii. Instead she's learning to cook since she has her very own kitchen (I suspect lots of mac and cheese). And she went to a ball game even though that took a bit of time away from catching up with movies and Law & Order reruns.

I'm making light of it, but she's having a fabulous experience and working on a really interesting project. The best part is that she's genuinely excited about it.

Any parents of cows planning on attending the Army/Navy game this year?

I'll be there! It is now an annual mother/daughter bonding experience.

Cool, maybe we can arrange an '09 parent rendezvous! Still waiting for Shogun's response--he may be part of the crowd at the Los Angeles County courthouse watching the Paris Hilton media circus this morning! ;)

We tried last year, but really didn't plan very well at all. I think we really should plan better this year. It'll be a blast to meet each other.

LIBERATE PARIS!!!!!

Don't think we will make it to the Army- Navy game this year. Still have never gone. Our daughter will be an exchange student at the Air Force Academy this fall after she returns from her month at the British Royal Military Academy in England. We are hoping to be able to get out to see her in Sept since she will be relatively closer than when she is at WP.

Shogun, you gave me a fit of giggles. Congrats to all you guys on having moo-moo's. Was it last year's Army/Navy game that Bill was hiding from everyone. You know... friends in low places & all that. LOL

A random thought:
Next time anyone starts stereotyping women, just compare the military women serving in Iraq/Afganistan and throughout the military in general (including the daughters of MOT, Shogun, peskemom, and usna09mom) with the likes of Paris*ite.

Does that imply that your girls are not exceptional?

Yes . . .I try to avoid crowds as much as possible.
I won't be at Army/Navy either this year.

Quite the contrary; just not notorious!

So . . .you CAN stereotype women; your girls are exceptional at one end of the spectrum and Paris is notorious at the other end of the specturm. The rest are just stereotypical?

Excuse me, its Saturday afternoon. Mid is outing tonight, doing what young men should be doing in the spring of their lives; returning next week to Annapolis. [Followed closely by Dad in mid-July.] So, its a slooow June afternoon w/ nothing better to do in the fall of my life than try to antagonize my wonderful friend USNA09mom. [Should that be "friend" in quotes?]

Beside, I need JM to pipe in here and tell everybody what wonderful SONS we have.

Bill,
We're family--Navy family! ;)
