Hey Ephs! Mission or Frosh?

And good luck to Monday letter getters.

Is there construction going on as it was last spring? Is it right by any of the freshmen dorms?

The class of 2011 is actually quite lucky with regard to construction on campus. The new Paresky Student Center, which has been under construction since the beginning of my freshman year two years ago, is situated right behind Sage Hall. Fortunately, they'll be finishing up construction over the next month or so, so incoming freshmen have nothing to worry about in terms of noisy construction.

crnchy, aren't they going to start on the new library once the student center is done? (At least that construction won't be right next to a dorm.)

Yeah, what cereal said.

As it is right now, I would say Mission -- most of the rooms are singles (which is nice, I think), and there's a dining hall in the building. That means that some days you don't even have to leave the building and can just wear sweatpants around all day. Which will really be nice come January or so.

Frosh Quad isn't bad, either, and with the Paresky Center opening soon, its about to have control over the snack bar. People generally like wherever they end up, so, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I would say the frosh quad is nicer than Mission actually; it's got a better location (even now, but especially when the new student center opens), a quad to play/study on, and the rooms are quite decent. They may be smaller than Mission rooms, but there are a lot more common rooms (with flat-screen TVs!). Maybe I'm just biased because I live there.

Anyway, you can't really lose with Williams freshman housing. Sophmore housing, on the other hand...

This is kind of off topic, but I heard there is going to be a movie theater in the Paresky Center...is this true?

Not as far as I know. There will be some sort of performance space that could potentially show movies, in the same sense that MainStage, Brooks-Rogers, Goodrich, Wege, and the other campus auditoriums can, but I don't think there are any plans to use it as a theater on a regular basis.
