Hey, even the President did bad on his SATs

George W. Bush SAT Scores:
Verbal: 566
Math: 640

(he still got into Yale)

(source) http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/01/20/timep.affirm.action.tm/

i wonder how he got a 566 verbal...........
but I guess if you have a dad who is a major politician..... u can get into many colleges?

GB only got in because of who his mommy and daddy are.

the bush family has a lot of money.

older bush is supposedly really smart.

dubya might be smart too. who knows? he never really had to try at anything, so it's not like he cared about the sat.

and sat scores are in multiples of 10

it's still above average..

...that is why the US is where it is today....

Not for retroactively recentered scores.

in those days everyone scored lower and it was easier to get in to top schools

Isn't this old news? And aren't we the ones preaching AGAINST judging people by their SAT scores?

I dislike Bush's policies but I hate it when people go as far as his SAT scores or grades at Yale to judge him. Come on, people, develop some tact.

Save the evironment; plant a Bush back in Texas. ;) I don't think the SAT was in multiples of 10 until 1970-something.

It's pretty obvious from watching the man speak that he's a twit. We don't need to see his SAT scores to prove that!!

it's still above average..

I don't want an above average president. I want an exemplary, cream of the crop president.

I'm not a fan of George Bush, but I think this discussion is kind of silly. With all the things he's done in office, I think there are a lot of better things to judge him on than his SAT scores.

They're that high?

Arti, the people that are the cream of the crop are those who can't put up w/ the crap of politics.

If they can't stomach politics, maybe they're not so cream of the crop after all, hmm?

And you can't compare old, retroactively recentered scores to modern scores. You don't know what kind of SAT you would've gotten back then, when there was less of an emphasis on "teaching to the test" and the test was much different and scored differently.

No wonder what year you took the SAT or what year you applied, those scores are not good enough to get you into Yale unless you're the son of a major politician or something of that nature.

SATs were not always multiples of 10.

This thread is complete BS.
