Most of those words appear to be relatively easy.

It would make a good poster for your bedroom wall!

silverturtle step down a peg to our level.

Thanks!

I find it helpful, even though DH may have more. but repeating is good and helpful to me. - After all, Silver got 800 while I got 600.

so thank you, crouch.

There’s nothing wrong with what is on the list; I was just trying to indicate that the list alone will likely not suffice in establishing the vocabulary necessary for consistently getting the Sentence Completion questions correct. The more lists you can look at, the better. I intend to go through the list to make sure that I know all the words.

Just make sure you start with Direct Hits, as it is the most efficient resource.

Thanks! Vocab is the worst by far for me, and I was looking for a concise list.

Yeah, I have pretty bad vocabulary, but I know most of those words…

Absolutely right.
Yes it helps to retain. I forget a lot. Does reading help? I read a lot. I still forget. What kind of reading is the best for SAT purposes?

Haha -
pretentious: pompous; self-important; ETS-like

People take cracks at ETS at every possible moment, don’t they?

Its a nice list but they’re pretty basic.

[SAT Vocabulary](http://www.ltftraining.org/English/SATVocabulary.aspx)
I find this website the most useful for studying SAT vocabulary.

Tenplenesis, this is really cool. thx!

Thanks Tenplenesis! synonyms+antonyms+meanings is good combination

By the way, I was going through Princeton Review’s Word Smart today; turns out that the vocabulary list I linked to is a copy of Princeton Review’s SAT Hit Parade. It’s Princeton Review’s version of Barron’s High-Frequency list, I guess. No wonder I recognized so many words in the compilation from my practice tests.

You’re right silverturtle, this should not be referred to as the only word list…words on sentence completion are much harder. But I have come across many of these words on the passages very often- the reason why I liked the list. You guys must have a good vocabulary I didn’t know the meanings of many of these words (and still don’t.)

The word list is easy, but can somebody tell me where I might be able to find Direct Hits?

Google “Direct Hits Core SAT Vocabulary - Hymoo”

Tenplenesis you’re amazing. You too, crouch88. Thanks :D

Wait, the file was set to private so I can’t download it :/. Any ideas?

That’s weird, I downloaded it just last week. I have it on my computer though, so I can send it to you if you PM me your email.
