Hi I am a freshmen right now attending UT Tyler as a Freshmen pursuing a BS in computer science, after seeing all the competition for CS I’m beginning to have a lot of anxiety for my chances externally transferring into CS right now.
Fall 4.0 GPA Music Through History, Precal , Programming Fundamentals 1 and Lab, Hist 1301,
Spring (Upcoming) Political Science 2305, College Algebra, Cal 1, Object Oriented Paradigm and Lab, Speech Fundamentals
EC - Started a Club (Investment Club) and Robotics Club (maybe in it but 17 hrs next semester might be tough) and built a website for them
RECS - 1 from Precal, maybe 1 from CS Prof, maybe 1 from CAL Prof
Questions - Should I switch college algebra for Hist 1302 ? Is 17 hrs a lot of class time ? Other Advice ? WHAT ARE MY CHANCES ?
O and made a really simple website using wordpress
Why do you need College Algebra if you are already taking Calculus?

Transfer applicants should exhibit strong past performance in math and science courses. A college transcript that indicates a competitive grade in calculus and a solid foundation of first-year coursework in science is highly valued.
To be most competitive, students should have earned credit for calculus and should have complete or in progress a minimum of nine credit hours in first-year math and science courses for science majors. A grade of A or B in all math and science courses is also desirable.
That’s the thing I just took it to make the 30 hour minimum. So what do you think my chances are ?
I don’t know about your chances. But I would suggest to drop College Algebra. It is a junk Math class, and the admission office will notice it.
