HEY!! I sent in my app for ED already!!!....slightly early...please help

ok. I'm from a competitive HS in Illinois near Chicago that has a weird GPA system. For unweighted, it's out of 5 and for weighted, honors and aps get 6.
So...with that in mind:
Asian Male, first generation to go to college from a poor family
5.0/5.0 unweighted....5.89/5.0 weighted (so technically I have a 117.8 out of 100)
Def graduated in top 1% of class in one of the top three most competitive schools in IL
SAT old: 1570 (800 verbal and 770 for math)
SAT new: 2380 (800 verbal, 800 math, 780 writing)
SAT II's: 800 Lit, 750 Math IIC, 770 Bio, 790 Physics...
AP's(17 of them): 13 5's, the rest were 4's.

Ok....it may seem like I'm wasting my time here to post this on CC, but I am really worried. I have seen so many qualified students, (vals of high schools) and such get rejected from Columbia. I've come to question whether I am really Columbia material and I spend nights sweating due to this problem. IT MAKES ME SO CRAZY!!!!!....ok....now back to the rest of the app

Pretty good essays(I won't say their great for fear of getting my hopes to high)
Pretty good recs.

I have always wanted to go to Columbia University which is why I applied Early Decision. However, our valedicatorian last year was rejected and it made me EXTREMELY nervous. Ever since, I have been prowling around CC in search of reassurance but I am not sure. Today, I finally have the courage to post my stats on the board.

It would be of great honour if you guys can help rate my chances. I am just really sick of people telling me I'm a "shoo in" and I should've "applied to Harvard or Yale". I really love COlumbia, yet the valedictorian being turned down last year REALLY freaked me out. I knew him very well and his accomplishments were WONDERFUL. I am just really nauseating over my own chances now and as a result, have slept less than 4 hours a night for the last day. I AM TOTALLY OBSESSED....lol...call me crazy.
PLEASE REPLY!!!

17 friggin' APs!!!!...your insane

Good chance....i guess

ECs are decent...

No, I wouldn't say "shoe in," but good chance.

Thanks:
And I'm also applying to
Chicago EA
MIT EA

And:
Harvard RD
Cornell RD
Yale RD
Dartmouth RD
**most of these were for my parents approval...its a weird azn parent thing.
Stanford RD
Princeton RD
BU RD
Univ of IL at Champaign RD
and for a super safety, I guess U of IL at CHicago

all of these are only if I don't make it to Columbia ED

Those are quite a bit of reaches, but the 17 APs..to me..stands out as quite an achievement.

Make sure you show your personality in your essay, because through stereotypes it may seem like your just a super-studier Asian...

oh... and after reviewing, I think your ECs are good....

First generation is also a great thing...I commend you on that.

SHUT UP.

With stats like those, there's really no need to be posting here.

well...you're kind. AS i've said, I'm really nervous. I'm sorry if it offends you in any way. Do you know how many people who are more qualified than me get rejected from COlumbia each year? I thank you sr6622 for replying.

calm down lol, still a long wait until december and as you've said, you already sent the app in. there's nothing you can do now, get the application off of your mind and focus on senior year!

Wow, do not be so stressed. Again, I don't know all about the admissions process and the like, but in my mind, I don't see how they could turn down a student like you. You have a good chance at Harvard too. You will definitely get into many amazing colleges. Also, if you spend a good amount of time writing amazing essays for these colleges, you will definitely in my mind, get in. That is what I'd do. Just write some amazing essays and you could probably get into any college that you wanted.

I am not sure how the Valedictorian didn't get accepted to Columbia last year, but tell me, what college did he go to? And did he apply early decision to Columbia? Did you see his stats? I really wouldn't be worried. Think about this...I live in New Orleans and am a freshman in high school at the most prestigious/best high school in the state. Peyton Manning went there, authors of many books like Moneyball and Benjamin Franklin went there, etc. In middle school, a senior helped teach our art class. He was a cool senior...He had pretty decent grades and scores and started on the varsity basketball team. I'm sure his stats were not as great as yours. But he got into Columbia and Cornell. He went to Cornell. If he had been going to your school with his stats, he wouldn't have been accepted to Columbia. But because he lived in New Orleans, that was a shoe in for Columbia. But believe me, you'll get into Columbia. And if you don't, I want to here you tell me on this board, because that is just ridiculuous.

This is obviously flamebait. This guy can't write to save his life. He obviously did not earn all these writing accolades.

Ok, so I don't work hard to write online, kill me for it....such an optimist I see.....;)

so, let me ask you, Columbia2002, what should a great writer write like online??

And thy own SAT scores art twenty-three-eighty and thyself is much afraid of the possibilities of failing to enter the prestigious school by which we call Columbia.
Should I write like that???
Ha. I do have a life you know, I don't have time to perfect grammar for your everyday Joe Schmoe at CC. LOL

The Valedictorian didn't apply to Columbia ED, (i knew him as a personal best friend):
Applied to:
Harvard EA

Columbia RD
Yale RD
Stanford RD
Caltech RD
JHU RD
Cornell RD
MIT RD
and Dartmouth RD

he ended up at Standford though he got accepted at Cornell, MIT, Yale, and Dartmouth

"Pretty good essays(I won't say their great for fear of getting my hopes to high)"

They're vs. their and to vs. too are things you learn in 2nd grade. There isn't any hard work in knowing simple English.

ok..ok....I guess it was getting late last night. You got me there.lol
NOW PLZ RATE MY CHANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>......grammar mistakes aside

are you allowed to apply to MIT EA and COLUMBIA ED?

yup MIT is not single choice

Columbia 2002, as jealous as I am with his stats, they could still be veracious. Yes, his online grammar isn't great, but whose is? Whether he is real or not, I guess we should still tell him his chances. I'm going to say that he will be accepted early decision and shouldn't worry(if you're for real...hint you're and not your).

in my opinion you're spreading yourself out too thin, colleges want to see real people not robots....

17 aps in 3 yrs how did u pull that off

17 aps in 3 yrs how did u pull that off that means you would have to take 6 aps in soph and junior and 5 as a fresh
