Hey, jc students, especially the ones who live in Southern Cali...
where do you guys usually study at?

It depends, typically I'm a fan of studying at home in my room, since it's the most comfortable place... However I also do ocasionally study in the schools library.

I hate my school's libary so I study at home

at home. i still live with my mom but shes hardly ever home so i get the house all to myself & plenty of peace and quiet

at home, however i am often very unproductive. I'd go to the library, but it's so damn crowded.

Welcome to the board,

thanks guys...itz because like on the weekends..instead of hanging out...i want to study some times...during my free time...but then all the jc libraries are closed on the weekends...even during the weekdays...at my house...itz always hard for me to concentrate.....but it seems like everyone is studying at home...

um, most people want to leave CC as soon as class is over. Thats proly why home is usually is most common. But for me i get too distracted at home at times.

My weekends have been pretty crappy compared to HS. Barely any friends to hang out w/.

I'd recommend either public libraries or public universities (which have decent hours on the weekends and usually round-the-clock hours during their study weeks). I usually study and do my research at UCI.

allie I wanted to go to UCI to study too (I live pretty close to it) but isn't the parking fee for the day there like 9 dollars?? pretty expensive

nah its 5 (7 on weekends, i think). but they have meters and stuff. If its really a problem, Id just say to park in University Center across the street (near the big InNOut) and walk across the street. Its really, really close and free.

It varies with me. I do my algebra homework in our school's math lab, I do my required reading on the bus while going to school or returning home. ( or at the bus stop.) I also study at home and also in the school's library.

I usually study on the roof. Sometimes in the shower.

mead13, thanks to you the laminated textbook industry must be booming

Interesting, the library (at my JC that is) is actually open on both Saturday and Sunday... Shorter hours of course, but still in a pinch it works.

I studied in some university's libarary.

How can you study at home man? A computer, that's all it takes to distract me.

i can't study at home or library because i'll just end up sleeping...so i go to coffee shop...it's weird, but study better when i see people walk around..it keeps me awake...

I must aggree with ccct, the local coffee shop is where I get studying done. Home is just too distracting, though the library helps somewhat. There is a lounge room in the school, so i'm occasionally there.

i study in school's cs lab..

I study in both my school library and at home. Sometimes I have no choice but to study in the library because I am at school all day so I just study there between classes. But unlike fei, I do like our library, except for the fact that the desks are all so freakin' close together.

"How can you study at home man? A computer, that's all it takes to distract me."

lol, Blackdream. For me, the question is how can I study in the library... the 50 computers (haha, fei, correct me if I'm wrong, but there just seems to be so many for a library) are all in plain view, and I'm usually too lazy to go upstairs. Everytime I enter the library, I always somehow first make my way to the computer commons before actually heading to the study area. Talk about lack of discipline :o.

I dislikes computer at our school, for they don't have a "work" folder nor do they have games.
