So...any chance?

There is ALWAYS a chance at carolina. The admissions committee HAND reads ALL of the applications. Get your absolute highest on the SAT....Shoot for 800 each section, it can be done, get some tutoring in math through the pre cal stuff....and watch your time on the math. In your application, make yourself stand out ....looking at your activities....you look like their kind of student. Apply early early decision. GET great references.....Tell your teachers you need very very strong letters. GO for it!!!

I think it is doable.. but it might be easier with a 700+ in math. Try reading as many prep books as possible. It IS doable. Math is the easiest section to raise an SAT score in, I think. At least a lot easier than CR...

Apply early action (it's not binding)

Make yourself seem unique, awesome. Stand out. UNC is really into how you are as a person instead of looking so much at numbers, I think.

Thanks for your replies...
I was thinking about applying ED to NYU, can i still apply EA to UNC? How many colleges can you apply EA to?

I think you have a very good chance. As margsala said, it's more about you as a person than your stats. I got a 610 on the math SAT and still got in, so don't stress over it too much.

yes, you can still apply EA to UNC if you apply ED to nyu. as long as the colleges that you're applying EA to are NOT SINGLE-CHOICE early action plans, you're fine

isn't ED binding? if you get accepted to nyu, you would have to go there.
and be careful with that, because nyu is known for giving little financial aid. unless you are willing to pay 50k a year for nyu, i wouldn't apply there ed...

From what i've gathered ED is binding though EA isnt, so if i get into NYU thats great and i have to go there, but if i get into both i can reject my EA school...i think thats the idea....
Umm im ok finance wise for NYU, though of course a scholarship would be nice i can manage the 50 k

Hah, just make sure you talk that over with your parents first! But definitely apply to UNC EA.
