I go to one of the top schools in my nation.
That school is however, not yet recognized by US colleges because my school hasn't send anyone to the States yet. It's my school's first year to send students.
Anyway, the cometition is horrible and I got GPA of 3.8 and top 50%.</p>
<p>Is my chance of getting in significantly low, even though I have somewhat cool ECs and pretty high SATs and APs?</p>
<p>Top 50% sounds pretty bad. What are your scores? What are you good at? What do you do in your free time?</p>

<p>well endoplasm, i got in, my school (for what its worth, this year we sent 2 to stanford, 4 to MIT, 1 to yale, and no one got in to harvard or princeton, out of a senior class of 1000 in a very wealthy and competitive area) GPA and classes and such and standardized test stats were maybe a little more impressive than yours, but you smoke me in terms of ECs.</p>
<p>so basically you have as good a shot as anyone with all that stuff, and you should work hard on your essays and getting good recs</p>
