I have a couple SAT II tests that I did poorly on, and I was wondering if I could hide them or something. To be specific, they are 660 on US History and 710 on Chemistry. If I don't turn in these scores on my application, will the universities still be able to access them?

The CollegeBoard just sends a complete score report with every score you've ever earned. They are changing this policy soon so that you can send selected scores only, but if I recall that won't take effect until the application season for the 2010-11 academic year. So, if you're a rising high school senior this may not help you, but if you're a rising junior you should be able to decide which scores to send.

If I've got that wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. ;)

EDIT: I just looked it up and the selective score reporting option will begin after March 2009, so, yeah, probably too late for applications going in this fall for the 2009-10 academic year.

^^^^ That's right. But I think that when you choose which scores to send (assuming you're a rising Junior), you choose the sitting, not the scores. So say you got an 800 on something on the same sitting you got the 660 US History on. Then if you wanted to send the 800, you would also have to send the 660.

Good point^. BTW 660 and 710 are fine scores, depending on where you're applying...

If your school is one of those that have secretaries or someone input scores and the adcoms only see the top two or top three, then you could take a bunch of other SAT IIs. I do not know if this secretary input thing is standard, but I have heard other CCers talk about it...

Darn OK guys thanks for all the help!
