I just got rejected from Stanford and now I am applying to University of Pennsylvania. They both require that I send my “entire testing history” including the SAT and ACT. I took the SAT once and got a 1990 my junior year but then I have 36 composite my senior year for the ACT.
Will the low SAT score affect my chances for Penn? I’m rather paranoid that this was the case with Stanford, although I think it probably wasn’t. Thanks.
I don’t think your SAT score will make or break your chances of getting into Penn, especially because the 36 ACT is very impressive. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. As long as your extracurriculars, GPA, and essays are good I think you have a pretty good shot at Penn(:
You have a 36 ACT? Are you really worried about Penn seeing your SAT score? You should not be. You have the top ACT possible. That means you got top scores across each of the components. I would not worry about revealing a lower SAT. I thought when most schools want to see the entire record they mean the entire SAT or ACT record but I have not recently looked.
honestly it probably affects your chances a little… it is pretttty strange to get 36 act and 1990 SAT. how did they force you to send SAT score though? i feel like u shud be able to just send your ACT scores.
definitely would not make or break your chances tho.
