<p>So a year ago, high match meant somewhere between a match and a reach, whereas low match was somewhere between a match and a safety. It seems it's changed now. Can we all clarify. What do you think high match vs low match is?</p>

<p>I hesitate to chance a school as a safety unless the OP has stated what they are able to pay for college and the colleges is in-state, so I use Low Match.</p>
<p>I use High Match when the school is very competitive and the OP is around the 50 percentile, where EC’s and essays may be required for the extra boost to make it a Match.</p>
