High SAT -Low GPA - Where Should I Apply To?

Nice SATs and your GPA isn’t as low as you think.

Are you looking to major in music or music production/tech? If so, then you’ve set yourself up nicely.

Nice job founding the ski club. They always love leadership, especially when it leads to lasting results like that.

BU seems possible. Write a cool “3 words that describe you,” drawing heavily from your extracurriculars.

Cal Poly and UCSD are reaches, but go for it. I don’t know a whole lot about the UCs, though, except Berkeley.

UCSB seems about in your range, given what someone I know who got in there told me.

Don’t worry about the “clubber” thing, talk about being a DJ in essays/interviews. Explain that what you do is an art and you are in high demand, though don’t seem like you’re comparing yourself to Beethoven or something like that. Send a supplement or offer to do a demonstration. That would be fun and I bet they don’t see/get a lot of DJ demonstrations or supplements.

Don’t apply to engineering unless you feel ready to go toe-to-toe with people with really really high math and physics scores in GPA and SATs.

You sound like someone with lots of charisma. Try to interview anywhere you can and let your dynamic personality shine through as much there as it does on this website.

Best of luck. I hope this helps. Could you chance me back? Mine’s called Crossing My Fingers. Thanks. Peace.
