If I were born in a different state, I’d be graduated already. I have a friend who’s exactly a year younger and in the same grade, because she’s from NY.

Hmm, that seems like the case for a lot of people here as well. I was born in March, which I thought was pretty late (so i’ll be turning 18 right before graduation), but at the same time i’m one of the oldest people in my grade, because like 90% of them were born in June and the other summer months. The youngest person in our grade was born in mid-November, but is still graduating with us.

The youngest people I ever knew to graduate was my friend, who turned 17 a few months before she graduated. I also know a rising junior who is just about to turn 15.

I think the cutoff is something like August 30th here. u___u

One of my best friends will turn 16 this August, and she’s in our grade o.O

I turn 17 in august! i will be a 16 year old senior for a week

I will be applying to college as a 16 year old
My birthday is late december, I would have been a grade lower if I was born a week later! So glad only one year left till graduation :D

I have a friend (class of '13) who won’t be 16 until December. So she could potentially be accepted as a 15 year old.

Friend is turning 17 in January

I feel so old lol. I’m turning 18 in October.
It’s normal though, where I’m from. :P

I think I did super on the ACT today!

@Rayna, I turn 18 in November. I know the feeling

I turn 18 the September of Freshman year in college, Cut off in NYS is or was December 31

So, I’ve been doing college tours, and we had a really funny and smart your guide at one of the colleges. Towards the end of the tour my dad asked the tour guide about my favorite school so far (Rice), because the tour guide lives in Houston. The tour guide basically said all these bad things about it, one which wasn’t true, one which was subjective and probably not true, and one which was just a reason he thought his college was the best. Although his argument seemed really flawed to me, my dad totally bought into it, and now whenever I bring up Rice he just quotes our tour guide, thinking he’s now an expert. /rant

ugh. frustrating situations. Well, anyways, I just got back from my college tours at JHU, Penn, and Georgetown, so if anyone here’s interested in those schools but can’t visit just send me a message and I can send you my thoughts on each of the schools.

So I did this program that finds me an internship for the summer. After months of waiting they said the best they could find is a children’s museum - which is not related to the politics/journalism I requested. At all. Do I accept it and spend my summer doing blah, or reject it and just have a good summer and go on vacation?

I gave up on doing anything that will look good this summer because I couldn’t find anything :(

@CSIHSIS: I wouldn’t do it. If you have no interest, don’t waste your time.
@runallday4: I bet there are loads of things you can do that are good. Maybe it’s not exactly an internship or job on your resume, but it can be a great catalyst in an interview.

I might be getting a fee waiver for a course at the local college and I could use that to take an American Foreign Policy class :o

This summer I’m trying to find a job. No one around here is hiring because too many adults are out of work and have taken up the jobs. I’m also traveling around a bit with my family. I have a ton of scholarships to find and start applying to. I have a lot of work to do for school.
While I won’t be doing much that you guys think is “amazing”, I’d rather spend my time hanging out considering that this year was so crazy.

HEY GUYS!! I want to be chanced, lol
This is really long, I sorry, but please please read it!!

I’m from Maryland and our transcripts include a regular cumulative GPA out of 4.0 and a weighted GPA (called a QPA, or quantitative point average) out of 6.0, depending on whether you’ve taken standard, honors, gifted and talented (G/T), AP/IB courses (listed in order of least to greatest weight. G/T and AP/IB are weighted the same. It is NOT possible to get a perfect 6.0 unless you’ve taken like G/T Physical Education and courses alike, which aren’t offered.)
