Ughh… I should start my common app essay, or at least some of the non-common apps I have to do.

Take the laptop Jazzii. Even as an Apple fanboy, the iPad isn’t worth it yet.

Got selected for the National Society of High School Scholars, so that’s pretty cool. Guess I’m smarter than I thought…

Weatherman, that’s just a con job, pretty much… It has no real benefits, you’re paying just to feel smart, when in reality all you did was say you had an A average on the PSAT answer sheet. =P

ahh… dang money grabs

Yep! I got selected for it, then I realized all of my friends with decent GPAs who bombed the SAT and PSAT were selected for it…=P Still though, it implies you have a good GPA, unless you lied to the College Board… So congrats!

Indeed.

And oi, I should work on my applications. Pretty sure my UMD app is due November 15th. I’m just too busy with work this week or the next to do it, then i’m on vacation - which isn’t a bad thing! I like being busy.

Have any of you taken VHS classes? I think I’m going to for US History and I was wondering what your experiences were like?

Woah, someone in MA!

And until a few weeks ago, I had no idea we could take online classes at my school. Didn’t even know they existed or they counted for anything.
(/assumptions, dumb.)

^Lucky! I wish my school had online classes!

I’m pretty sure mine doesn’t, though! The only girl I know who took them had them because she moved here in April and couldn’t be placed in any classes, so they put her in online classes so she could keep up. But it wasn’t our curriculum and none of our teachers could help her with them so she didn’t do very well.

Otherwise, there has never been any mention of them so I was ignorant until I started cruising CC. There’s no dual-enrollment, no dual credit, no online classes, no cross-registration, nothing. We don’t even have most AP classes.

I’ve taken VHS courses before! Last year, I took AP Psychology, and it was very demanding but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Most VHS classes are pretty easy… Just put in the time and effort, and you should be alright. AP online classes are tougher… I had to put significantly more effort to do well in AP Psych than taking Journalism online through VHS. But I have very positive VHS experiences, and I’m sure you will too! Everybody is willing to help you out and support you - your teacher and your classmates. You just need to be self motivated enough to finish the work.
Oh, and one tip. The week’s work ends on Tuesday, so try telling yourself the deadline is Sunday or Monday, so you’ll be ahead of the game, and won’t procrastinate. That’s the biggest challenge - doing everything on time.
But you’ll be fine. It’s not difficult as long as take responsibility for your learning and efforts. :)

Can I take a DVD class?

Are the common app essays out already o.o?

Technically, no. You can’t register for the CommonApp til August 1st - but they’ve released a document that highlights the chances they’ve made this year, and the prompts haven’t been changed (as far as I remember), so you could start working on them.

Senioritis striking for anyone yet?

I’ve had senioritis since October of junior year lmao

I may have possibly successfully purchased tickets for the Olympics - Men’s doubles and Women’s singles gold medal tennis matches.

“May” reason being - I don’t want to purger myself.

Yeah. Just before APs. What a great time for it to hit lol.

@retrohippo - you’re the best :)! Thanks for the information.

/sprinkles pixie dust on this thread

So like…yeah. I’ve been out of school for a little over two weeks but it feels like it’s been aaaages.

Pfft you think two weeks is bad? Try a month and a half…I’m so lazy
But I planned some trips with my friends so all should be well until school starts.
