High School Class of 2013

I TOTALLY forgot about interviews for 2 of my schools. apparently they need to be done by december :(

Why am I being shooed? Lol

My APUSH teacher went to Binghamton because he didn’t get into Cornell. He says he liked it.

How much does the new TX cost?

^Isn’t google still working? Lol just saying.

Only one or two of the schools I’m applying to uses the common app. :I I don’t know whether to do it or not because I don’t think they require them.

Is the common app site not working for anyone else?

It was working for me this morning…but I haven’t tried since.

I was just on the common app

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using CC

It just now started working for me

Got my senior schedule yesterday… it’s messed up. :stuck_out_tongue:
I have two blank periods, no AP Physics for some odd reason, and no Spanish because it conflicted with AP Microecon. I’m thinking maybe take AP Chem instead of physics if there was a conflict for physics, and either take another art course or start french…

Common App is working fine for me

^Did you get your schedule online? When I got mine last year I had only 4 classes and then when I got to school, it was fixed

Because we’re competing against each other at UMD. :P

I dunno, it feels really weird to think about it that way. I don’t get how people can act like that. My parents always taught me not to think about what i’ve done in the context of what other people have done. The way I see it is, we’re all working together towards a common goal: college, and then careers, and a good life.

woah that sounded really insightful i’m just going to go play video games now

Meh, the admissions process there isn’t that competitive. I bet we’ll both get in (that’d be really cool).

I cut a lot from my college list. Here’s what it is now that I’ve done a lot more research: UMass Dartmouth, UMass Boston, Adelphi, Pace, Penn State, NYU, (and here come the more unrealistic ones) Yale, Princeton, Duke, and Brown. I decided I don’t need a ton of rejection letters. (I know, totally negative way of thinking, but it’ll be cheaper this way anyways.) I’m pretty sure this is a final list. If Brown didn’t have such a great curriculum, I’d remove it too.

you guys… I’m only applying to like 5 American colleges…

is anyone else considering brown for ED?

my parents make upwards of 200k, but it would be great to get financial aid based on merit…

I love brown, but to be honest, I think I’d rather go to stanford, and if by the off-chance I do qualify for admission to stanford, then I’d be heartbroken if I had to withdraw my app.

brown’s open curriculum and overall feel are both so great, though. can’t beat that 19% admit rate vs 8.9% RD.

sorry for the rant… just doing some serious thinking

Stanford is REA, so you can’t apply early to both of them. Problem solved.

runallday- that’s not what I meant by that! I’ll probably get my app in early even for stanford RD, since I’d like it to be done nicely for brown… at that point, if the dates coincided and if somewhere some adcom was saying “BNB2 looks like a good fit! let’s move her up to the next round of possible admits!” it would be scary to withdraw that RD app :</p>

My plan for after college is to be an Pediatric APRN working in the ER. Anyone else have this aspiration or something like it? 12 years of college ahead of me + clinicals. I guess they go hand and hand though.

If you rather go to Stanford, I wouldn’t do early decision to Brown. Even if you don’t get into Brown regular, you’d still possibly have Stanford and the others you applied to.
