Just start the year and see how it goes. You’re lucky that you can just join a sport. At my school almost every sport is very selective and they cut lots of people (except a few, like cross country, track, swimming and softball–but the kids who aren’t as good don’t get to compete). I played competitive soccer for 5 years, played rec for 5 before that. I was lucky to make the JV team my freshmen year. Plenty of kids who played comp didn’t. Sports are really fun and theyre great bonding so I think you should try to play. If it gets too hard you could always quit? Or try drawing out a schedule of how each week will go and see if you have time to fit it in. That’s how I decided on my extra curriculars for next year.

So I am reallllly late to this thread, lol, but I am part of the class of 2013. Just to introduce myself a little:
I am a Florida resident
My hobbies are reading, art, and using the computer.
Umm I’m still 15, I’ll be 16 in August.
Yeah, that’s about it
Nice to know there are so many of us on here though. :D

^ hey!!!
welcome to the thread ^o^

I have sooo much summer work… but it’s mostly Spanish o.O and some prep work for ap classes.

I feel like my school must really be slacking -__- lol I’m in the IB program and the only summer work I have is to read The Great Gatsby and A Brave New World for IB English.
What AP classes are you taking Rayna3?

^ I just finished Gatsby! Starting in on the booklet now, though I don’t know why I’m actually putting effort in. It does say “Summer reading will be assessed by the AP teachers and not evaluated.” Must be the “I have to do my best on everything” in me. On the plus side, I think I know what I’m going to do for my independent study for Gatsby. I discovered that there isn’t a musical written about it yet, so at the very least I’ll write a Daisy/Gatsby duet. My intention is to write at least one act of the musical, though. We’ll see. It’s going to be a busy year!
Unfortunately, I’m not getting off as easy as you, addicted2future. I still have 2 essays I need to write for AP Eng. Luckily, they’re books I love (Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre), but that doesn’t make the work any less taxing!

Y’all are all lucky! I have a math packet that’s over 200 questions to do, read two books for apush, read two books for ap lang and write essays for both! And I haven’t even started yet because I’ve been travelling and playing baseball too much!

@canadianMTgirl: Good luck with that, it’s a really good idea (the Daisy/Gatsby) duet. lol, I’m scared as to what our teacher will make us do when we get to school since we didn’t have much out of school, yikes, lol.
@HHS2013: Sorry to hear that, how much summer do you have left? lol I go back kind of late August but I know some schools go back in September

I feel so god damn stupid…Im taking AP Calc AB next year, im 3/4 way through my 76 question packet and…I forgot how to do derive *****…

AP Biology reading of 25 chapters
Honors English reading of 3 books with a 1000 word essay that ties all 3 books together
Along with 2 a days in August
Kill me now

@addicted2future, we go back the 15th? I can’t remember the exact date but beginning of august really and so I don’t have alot of time to do all of ths because I have baseball tournaments and practices all week for the rest of the summer and I hae to be at school the week before we start for student council! Life kinda sucks right now

I totally feel you all on the pressure of getting stuff done. I don’t go back until September 6th, but I have my first rehearsal for Grease a week from today. I really don’t want to be doing any summer work while I should be focusing on a show, so we’ll see if I can get everything done this week.

i love english lit class!

hey guys… I’m pretty late too xD
I’m from the class of 2013 as well.
I love to read, attempt to write (my writing’s not all that great), blogging, traveling, and playing the guitar/other instruments.
woo class of 2013
oh, and I’ll be 16 in august as well

wow you guys have a looot of summer homework!
all I have to do is read a book for ap lang and choose eight quotes to analyze. our school’s a great school compared to others in the state, but we don’t really have to do much ap summer homework. for apush (I took it this year), we had no summer homework. I think our teachers do a decent job of preparing us for the ap tests. Our math program is competitive. For calc BC, I think 15/19 of the students got a 5, and the other four got a 4, I believe.

^Compare that to my school…lots of useless summer homework, I’m the first and only person in the tenure of my APUSH’s teaching career to get a five…he’s been teaching for a while now.

Edit: it’s not him, it’s the atmosphere of the school and the stupidity/procrastination-esque nature of the students.

Hmm, summer homework. Have not heard of that ever since I moved out of the old country.

I am spending my summer taking Macroeconomics and Microeconomics at a community college, studying a little for the SAT, and reading for fun. I am going to be a junior next year and honestly I cannot wait for school to start!

I can wait for school to start… But I’m pretty psyched for Chemistry. Biology was a nightmare for me.

Hey guys, I just joined this site and I’m liking this thread so far haha. Go class of 2013!

I go to this small, but really difficult charter school (grade 7-12) I’m so excited for chemistry and algebra 2!

I’m 17 and turning 18 in February but the reason I’m in my junior year instead of my senior year is because I’m 100% deaf and I participate in all regular classes. I took a couple honors classes (There is no AP classes but there will this year! I’m excited for it!) and I did pretty well in both of them. A- in Honors Biology, and B in Honors English (I hate English haha). I plan on majoring in Computer Science in the future. My overall gpa is about 3.8 or so.

^^ chem is so hard! ill pray for you

Anyone here planning to apply to any of the Ivies? Haha just curious.
