High School Class of 2013

@writingdog I’m hoping too but so far…no. This weekend I have 2 chapters of apush, 2 of apbio, 2 of appsych, half a chapter of apstats, 100 irregular spanish verbs, a paper and 20 chapters of the scarlet letter to read. this is ridiculous. Aww your english teacher sounds so cool! Mine assigns a bunch of extra work in addition to the core curriculum all the other classes teach. So then I have all this extra stuff to do and its not fair because the other kids will get easy A’s and the kids with my teacher work really freaking hard for B’s. But then colleges won’t even know the difference and my gpa will be screwed up. Ugh. I actually get angry when he assigns us things. On friday he gave us 25 minutes to write a one page paper about shame. Like what the hell does he want us to write? That’s all he would tell us. I had such bad writer’s block that I was at the point where I was just like damn, there’s really no point in even turning it in. That’s how terrible it was.

My spanish teacher speaks spanish all the time too, but I really don’t remember anything…eh.

I have homework before school even starts. Not a summer assignment, actual homework.
(it’s to read the second chapter of our Econ textbook, and to make a homepage on Blackboard)

I only have to read one book before school starts. Yay!

But for reals, I’m going to die of exhaustion this year, I’m calling it now.

@Doinks that’s not too bad at least! I had to outline the first five chapters of apush and be ready to be tested on it the first week. and also i had to be ready to be tested on the first four chapters of bio. Overall it wasn’t too bad. Thank god i didnt take honors english that would have been like four books and an essay.

But seriously, i hate blackboard with a passion. it’s down like, every single day.

@Izzy Busy Bee. You will. It’s brutal :(

^I have a test the first day of Calc. I’ve heard very bad things about my APUSH teacher (like, tests every class type things). I have to not fall asleep in APCS (harder than it sounds). AND I need to convince my counselor to let me get credit for EPGY Physics. Then I need to survive German, and I mean that literally.
@Izzy Me, too. 6 APs FTW!

Aww that sucks I’m sorry :(

Yeah my APUSH teacher is brutal but she’s a good teacher so I guess it evens out? but almost no one gets an A.

Damn I could never do six APs. Never. That’s not even physically possible at my school because we don’t have AP Lang. Well you could do six senior year I suppose. But I don’t know anyone that does. Even the people who go to Princeton, Harvard, etc. do 4, maybe 5 senior year. That is crazy. Good luck!!

I have an APUS test on the 2nd day of class :P

My AP US teacher is ridiculously brilliant, he’s barely had any failures in his 9 (or maybe 19 :P?) years of teaching it. He was telling us, he’s so knowledgeable about US History, that he could take any single unit and make it into a semester long course lol
Same for my lang teacher, she had a 98% pass rate last year.
My bio teacher gave us 2 tests in the first 3 days of school and she hasn’t taught us a single thing so far, she should probably be teaching middle school.
I don’t know about my Java teacher, it’s her first year, so I guess we’ll see :P

LOL. In my Japanese class, you either have a 100 average or you are failing, there’s no middle ground.

Also, Google “So you want to learn Japanese” and that page is 100% true about everything xD

Is anyone taking the SAT during the fall? O:

I’m not O:

I’ll take the PSAT (for the third time jsdkgb) and then take the SAT in like May or whenever it’s offered.

@CSIHSIS: 3rd time? o - o Goodluck buddy.

Yea my school makes us take it every year.

Wow…if you don’t mind me asking, what were the scores for your last PSAT?

Freshmen 180
Sophomore 182 - CR 62 - M 66 - WS 54

Hey, at least I increased xD Maybe this year I’ll get a 184.

It’s always good to keep your chin up! (: Like my buddy Mr. Albert E. Gray said: “All successful people have the habit of doing the things failures don’t like to do. They don’t like doing them either necessarily. But their disliking is subordinated to the strength of their purpose.”

I got 211 last year, I really really want 218+ (for NMS), but preferably 225+ :|

My apush teacher has a 97% pass rate but even people who 5 the test get B’s. On Friday we had a test and the guy next to me was really freaking high. And it was first period. It smelled so much and he didn’t even finish the test…

I think I’m going to take the November sat and then again in March. In may and June I’ll be doing subject test and all so I don’t want to do it then. Then at the beginning of senior year I’ll redo whatever I think I did bad in.

I got a 197 on the PSAT last year. I went to a party the night before and went to bed at 2 -_- practice tests are showing 220ish so hopefully I can get it above california’s cutoff!

my apush teacher (I took apus last year) was really easy. he basically gave everybody A’s or B’s. I wish he hadn’t been such an easy grader because I kind of took it for granted, and I know some people who wouldn’t even do the readings ever. I’m not sure if some of them ever picked up the textbook more than ten times. there are good sides and bad sides to strict teachers. at least you know if you have a strict ap teacher, you’ll most likely be more in shape to get a good passing grade on the ap exam.

So I had my first day of school today. I already know my calc teacher is gonna be good (had her last year). My AP Lit teacher is pretty awesome, I don’t think that there were more than five minutes where people weren’t cracking up. There were some people who had him last year, they say that he’s a pretty good teacher. So far I think that I have an excellent schedule. Well, except for German, they combined German 2, 3, and 4. And we have the usual sucky teacher. But we only have 88 classes.
