My schedule:
Honors Advanced Biology 3-4 (LOL, don’t ask. I didn’t come up with the name…)
AP Statistics
AP English Language and Composition
AP Spanish Language
AP U.S. History
Honors Finite Mathematics (yah, don’t ask about this one either… I dunno… O_o)

Errmmm, I’d really like to be a lawyer or a psychologist/psychiatrist. My stereotypical Asian parents are pushing me towards engineering, though. For all I care, math and science can throw themselves into a raging conflagration and burn for eternity.
Junior year is alright so far… I’m just scared of screwing this year up, because I did very poorly my freshman and sophomore years.

Dream schools: UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, NYU, University of Michigan, Boston University

Haha, I think they’re great schools too, but that’s not what my parents seem to think. They’re the kind of people who think the Ivy League + MIT + Stanford are the only good schools in the U.S., and even then they’re just “decent”. The UC schools are “average” to them. They like to refer to me as their little failure. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
My brother is much more intelligent than me by leaps and bounds. By around my freshman year, my parents kind of “gave up” on me and focused on pushing him to do well in school. Although I have to say, I kind of like the independence it’s granted me.
Sooooo, how is junior year so far for everyone?

@willy awww that’s sad! My parents gave up on my older sister actually. Now all the pressure’s on me… And I’m sure you didn’t do bad your first couple years your parents just have really high standards. Good luck with this year!!

CSIHSIS good luck to you too it’s a blastttt (loljk it sucks)

Awful!! I havent had a good night’s sleep since school has started and i just started tuesday so i have a lot of work cut out for me. darn my overachieving ways and taking 4 APs and 4 honors!! =/ at least i have 1st period off

@willy: I completely understand… my parents are Asian too. and I don’t think they’ve done much research on colleges because they think like your parents do - that the only good colleges out there are Ivy Leagues + MIT + Stanford + a few other big names. My parents just want the best for me though… they want me to work hard, be happy, and go to an Ivy League if I don’t want to end up working somewhere like McDonalds (their thinking, not mine.)

AND JUNIOR YEAR IS AWESOME! I love APES and my Western Civilization book came in yesterday and I’m so excited to self study euro! All my classes are awesome and this year is the best by far, I think.

How do you guys fit so many APs/honors in your schedules? Seriouslyy… Im gonna look so inadequate… We have seven classes available, but most people take six. This is my first year with six because 4 APs and ECs that theres no way I could handle it… but even then I could only fit like 5 APs max… because language & english arent offered in AP junior year. that is crazy though seriously.

^^^ wow thats unheard of for the schools in my area! But im have to take classes at my local cc my 2nd semester so i can take the ap exam to go with it anyways since at my school, if you wanna get into ivy (and i kinda have to cuz of fam pressure), you gotta take ap for as many classes as possible or at least beast the exams cuz only about 10 kids out of 500 a year goes ivy =O so im keeping my fingers crossed that i can still have my sanity at the end of all this cuz now clubs are starting and im an officer of two so officer = i run the club

^really? How many ap classes does your school have total?
My school is fairly average sized (~1600 students maybe?). And there aren’t really limits on how many ap classes you can take

My school is around the same size too (last i checked on my transcript it was 1703 but idk why i memorized that!!) But it offers 19 APs but no one can take them all since there’s some for art and foreign language so the really smart kids end up taking 12 by end of senior year but you can take up to 3 sophomore year, 7 junior year, and 9 senior year (a whole day but only the really smart no social life kids do that so less than 1%). But most kids take from 1-3 a year but im kinda making up for not taking any last year this year since i was such a slacker while its not even possible for me now.

IB Diploma kid here. We really haven’t gotten into the full swing yet. Plus, junior year is slower with only two IB exams and IAs (for me). Senior year is gonna be awful.
