I love Princeton baseball camp. It’s awesome.

I love my family BUT, I’ve been with them for 18 years (when I graduate), I want to get FAR away for you guys. The closest T1 school is UNC-CH, which is about 90 min. including heavy traffic/food stops/bathroom stops. If I got accepted to UPenn SoN, I would DIE! I think we were going to send a kid to Yale, but low FA, send him to Northeastern.

I’m so happy I’m going to such a good private high school! The college matriculations are amazing.

^ya me too we have about 100 kids per grade and we send 4-5 to Harvard every year

I was going to apply boarding school, then I realized that I don’t “need” it.

Yeah. Some people don’t need it, some people do. But I love my school and its a “fit” for me. I cannot wait until the school year begins!

It’s cool though. In three years we sent 42 students to Harvard, 36 to Yale, 36 to Georgetown, 34 to Princeton, etc.

^How accurate are those statistics. I can believe 42 to Harvard and 34 to Princeton. but 36 to Yale seems overkill, especially with the Yale Admissions process.

I would think that the Yale statistic would be higher because it has a higher acceptance rate, same with princeton

The school has to be fudging those statistics. Unless your high school is in MA, I don’t see how that’s possible.

I could see that if it were a boarding school

Even if it was, It just doesn’t seem right.

Anyway, I can’t do Marching Band!!! Ok, I’m the section leader/the other one who can play our show theme. Our flute section is ALL freshman!!! dies We are f****d.

^^ Pittsburgher is going to exeter and its the best boarding school (much better than andover ) in the country and everyone ends up going to amazing colleges. Like even if they don’t end up going to ivys they’ll go to like the best liberal arts schools and stuff.

http://www.exeter.edu/documents/2011_Profile_for_Colleges(4).pdf

^that makes sense, though if you look at the forbes prep school rankings andover is higher than exeter

FORBES PREP SCHOOL RANKINGS LIES!

Sorry, I hear that everywhere I go. My cousin goes to a school “higher” than Exeter, so his mom, my aunt, likes to mock me with that. Ivy/MIT/Stanford matriculation was a large factor in the selection process for the Forbes ranking. Exeter, however, sends lots of students to top international colleges, kids taking amazing gap years, and kids going to excellent liberal arts colleges. Also, we have a lower student faculty ratio than Andover, a much larger endowment, and more faculty with advance degrees.

Yeah, but I am an incoming junior (prep/freshman) at Exeter. Most of the kids go to great colleges, but enough go to foreign colleges or colleges suiting their interest instead of going to an Ivy. We were originally a Harvard feeder school, so lots of kids go to Harvard to this day.
Yeah. My school is different but it fits me.
@Politcal, It’s not in MA. It is in Exeter, New Hampshire and is an hour from Boston.

I will concede that the andover dining hall is better though. And they have a starbucks near the school so if you go for E/A make sure you visit that but don’t stay too long. You might miss the bus back (I’m saying this from experience we ended up making the last bus back by running across their entire campus but it was too close)

You should have told me it was Exeter! I would have believed you in a heartbeat. Though 14 kids a year? Wow.
I go to a public school in NJ that is one of the top social science schools in the nation (but who reads those rankings?)

Sorry Political. I tend to talk about my school without stating what school it is. People generally figure out my school anyway, after they’ve heard enough about it. They aren’t many schools like Exeter out there.

The local ps is nationally ranked as one of the best, but, personally, I didn’t really “fit” there. I was very academic based unlike most of my former classmates.

I was actually guessing HADES, but since your name is pittsburgher, I wasn’t thinking straight.

I’m going to be touring some boarding schools this summer. I hope to actually get in next year. Though if I don’t get in, I still have some really good opportunities at my local public high school.
