Being a freshmen at my school is horrible. If an upperclassmen walks through the freshman hallway they immediately starting cringing and muttering things about freshmen.

How can they even tell if you’re a freshman?

We have hallways for each grade. The freshmen hallway is full of well, freshmen.

Oh. That sorta sucks 'cause it discourages mixing between grades and kinda segregates you guys.

Wow today sucked, for English I felt like I was writing one of the best persuasive essays I ever wrote, cause I kinda suck at English. I always get an A but it is hard earned compared to other classes. Anyways I felt awesome doing it and was about to write my conclusion but then time was up and I had to stop. Hardest essay I worked for and I didn’t finish. Today was shortened because of a stupid assembly so I only had 40 minutes.

Exactly! That’s too bad @hailbo I always have to try really hard to maintain an A in language arts.

Any of you guys feel like you post way more than what’s next your your username? I’m pretty sure I’ve posted more than 3 times…

^Posts in HSL and the CC Cafe don’t count towards that total.

@hailbo For some reason I really like timed writings. It’s really raw. Like once a month we’re given 40 minutes in class to write an entire essay using textual citations. I just always get in the zone and the feeling of your pencil racing across the paper is so satisfying.

Well it wasn’t exactly 40 minutes, my teacher spent the first few minutes explaining how the essay was going to be graded and made us organize our table the way she wanted us to. Then she made us staple the paper to some information about persuasive essays. It was more like 25. This essay I was trying to write neat cause I felt good. It was a good essay. Damn conclusion.

I see what you’re saying. On my language arts final, there were 5 paragraph responses, in addition to the already time consuming multiple choice questions.

Yeah, I guess the teacher was thinking we would write a lot less. She said the essay could be 3 paragraphs. I had my essay planned and it was much longer.

Did any of you read Henrietta Lacks for biology?

nope 10char

I don’t want to be a sophomore I’m scared of growing up. Like next year the pressure of being perfect is just going to increase. Yea I always have to work so hard for an A in lang and right now I have a 89(shoots self) but enough of that I’m on spring break right now and I’m going to Myrtle Beach tmrw, any tips on things to do?

Don’t sweat having an 89, I had something like that going into the last 2 weeks of the 3rd quarter and pulled it up to a 94 by the end of the quarter. You will just have to study a little bit extra. Have fun and relax on your break.

Also have any of you taken AP US History? I am taking it next year so i would like to know how hard is it and how hard the exam is.

^That class is offered at my school only as a Junior. I heard it’s a really hard class though. I’m taking AP Euro next year.

It’s usually only for seniors at my school but I pulled a few strings with my guidance counselor since we have worked with each other a lot. Its also apparently the hardest class at my school, or so they say. That’s really the only class that seems hard for next year. Oh, does anyone know about AP human geography? Gonna be taking that one too and I’m not sure about the course load.

I’m taking AP human geo and honestly it’s a really easy class, you just have to do your notes and vocab first semester and everything else is a breeze. (That’s if your teacher does what we did) as for course load it’s a bit heavy bc there is always notes and vocab to do 1st semester, but 2nd is just review.

So how many AP classes are you planning to take over your high school career? If I planned it out right I could be taking 11. 5 in junior year. But doesn’t that seem to much? I want to do extra curriculars and I feel like 5 is gonna be too much for 1 year. Any thoughts?
