High school class of 2016

I’m excited for sophomore year. Not the work though. Ready to belittle the freshman at pep rallies. Sucks that freshman will be in my math class next year. Not because I’m dumb, just because they’re super smart.

Enjoying my summer too :D

What language are you guys taking next year?

Espa

I signed up for Arabic 2. I also want to try and take Mandarin in the Spring.

私の 外国語は 日本語です。I’m going into the only honors class (yay).

uhm, change of plans. i’m in love with columbia.

ugh, this is so depressing. wait 3 years and i’m rejected :’(

I take Latin, but I know Mando…
I am taking AP Chinese exam and SAT Chinese sophomore year in case if I flunk my Latin exams so I can get some language credits :D

Columbia is my dream :)

Yeah, I think I’m in love with Columbia now :(

Nearly all my life I knew I liked Harvard, since my dad went there, but I’m betrayed… nooo

I’ll probably end up at my local private university, Boston University or Boston College :/

Meeeeeeeeee

I’m excited to just get out of HS in general.

What are your ECs like?

Columbia engineering is meh. Too expensive to justify the education in my case

I’d like to study Political Science then get my Master’s in IR there.

If I were to get accepted into their IR program then I’d be able to apply for an internship with the UN.

An internship with the UN sounds amazing, although when I went to the conference for Model UN a few months ago, all the interns (one was from Columbia!) looked bored and the “debate” kind of got tedious and repetitive. Anyone else here a Model UN-er?

My dream school is Stanford, but that’s way out of my reach…

Yeah, I accidentally just fell in love with Brown after about two years of this forum pounding the no dream school idea. I give it what I can.

By the way, are there any music people in here gearing up for all-district/state auditions already? We were given the state pieces for our summer homework and we were supposed to get the district piece but for some odd reason it hasn’t officially been announced yet. Anyway, I’m really excited because this is the first time I’m eligible. Woooooo.

Setting the bar too high, everyone. There’s nothing wrong with BC or any other college. Besides, I wouldn’t fall in love with any Ivy school just yet, the admit rates are low, very low.

There IS nothing wrong with schools like BU, UMich, etc. But there’s also nothing wrong with having high standards and goals, whether or not some of us will ever achieve them.

UCSD, UCLA, and maybe Caltech are the only school I would want to go to.

@typeakid - I qualified for All-State too! What state do you live in and what instrument do you play? I’m in NY and I play the flute.

Goals are fine. I want to get into Cornell or Harvard, but I don’t want to become too attached to the school at this moment.

Oh I haven’t qualified for anything yet, since my school doesn’t let freshies audition. I’m from IL and I’m actually a choir child, not band. I’m first soprano, so obviously I’m the best singer ever (hahaha I love those types of people).
