High school class of 2016

Bump…

@foodlover: 150k is the starting pay, with bonus at Goldman Sachs and other “bulge brackets”

Lol, sorry I mean autoexec…

Also, Intellectual1, I don’t think now is a good time for chances. We really can’t tell anything till we see your SAT, AP and other grades that you’ll accumulate by junior year’s end.

Hey, Apollo. I got a 1 on the AP HG exam.

Lol, seriously?
…I have glaucoma

Apollo, the thing is that, contrary to what people say, you don’t make much at all coming out from undergraduate. Even if you are the best coming out from your university, you are not guaranteed a good job. My brother graduated in 3 years with a BS in engineering (1 more semester for his masters though) at one of the top engineering programs from a state school. Their best department is mechanical and he graduated as the one senior who they recognized for outstanding scholarly achievement in the whole department. He also worked for NASA and had ridiculous amounts of engineering experience, even in high school. Not as internships, but as actual jobs. So as you can tell, be is an extremely gifted person and he is also a very hard worker. This makes him one of the top engineers coming out of undergraduate for the year. And what is his first job offer? Like 45k a year at a vehicle company that he turned down because it was too low. Not to mention he turned down a returning offer from NASA because he didn’t like how they were losing funding and he thought that the things they were doing there were not particularly fun to do, or meaningful. He then proceeded to have to take a summer internship at, in all honesty, a really good vibrations company, but he is making chump change. Life isn’t all dandy when you get out of college. You aren’t guaranteed to work at Goldman Sachs. You may just have to work where you can.

I’ve gotta agreee with that.
And a lof people with those 6 figure starting salaries have family connections / are old money

@Secoja8: Was the AP Human Geo. exam hard?

@Intellectual1: Your stats look pretty good. You have a good GPA…I guess you have to take APs and the SAT to really see your chances, but I think you’re on the right track for most of the colleges (NYU, Boston University, UCLA, etc.).

So me beimg the dumb person I am and not bothering to use proxies… SO ANXIOUS FOR AP WORLD SCORES. I literally have no clue how good or bad I did…

@food No, it’s just that every last person that had my teacher got 1’s on it. Seriously. I started a FB page with all the people in the class and not a single person got above a 1.

That said, we had the worst possible teacher anyone could ever have.

It’s an easy class, but we didn’t learn the material. At all.

Sorry to hear that Secoja…

Is it possible to try again next year?

I don’t think it is a good time to chance each other after only one year of high school… I was thinking about my schedule next year and I just thought: WHAT HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF? AP World History AP Biology Honors Chemistry Honors Geometry/Precalculus Honors 10th grade Literature Honors Spanish 2 Plus Varsity Track and Field during the second semester.

@world
It would probably not be a good idea to try again. It’s ok, colleges don’t give a crap about AP HG anyway.
But I have vowed to get 5’s on every single AP exam from now on. Next year should be a piece of cake for me.
