<p>All you guys seemed so involved already. I haven’t joined a club or anything yet. So far they announced the lumberjack club (lol), bike club, student council, and quiz bowl. None of those really interest me except the quiz bowl, but I chickened out and didn’t go to try outs. I might go to the Science Olympiad meeting tomorrow and see what that’s all about.</p>
<p>I add Choir (period 8) to my schedule…I also join in Academic Decalthon.It is really awkward when most people over there are Junior and Senior.Forsh/Soph will have the competition in May . Junior /Senior will have in January. That is why just a few of Frosh/Soph came</p>

<p>@rykun lol it’s nothing big. just join whatever interests you. even if it sounds stupid. like lumberjack club lol. the only thing i’m really involved in is debate. by being involved i mean having regular meetings. all the other clubs i signed up for at club fair haven’t done anything. </p>
<p>i signed up for the school newspaper but i’m really not sure how active it is. on the announcements they keep saying “if you have a flair for creative writing and want to see your writing featured in the school newspaper, then go see ms. ____ in room _____.” But I don’t wanna be those people who are just featured in the creative writing section, you know? I actually wanna be one of the staff. I know that our school has an actual newspaper class and I’m guessing those are the people who produce it but I refuse to take a class to be in a club. However, at club fair they told me I wouldn’t have to and that they’d be holding afterschool meetings for it. It’s been almost a month and they haven’t done anything yet.</p>
<p>Well I didnt voted into student council today, so not feeling to good. God I hate popularty contests.</p>

<p>^:( I’m sorry. That blows. We held our elections in May and I didn’t get voted in either. I was totally devastated. But in hindsight it was for the best because at my school student council is an actual class, which is pretty bogus, as fun as it would’ve been.</p>
<p>First off, please forgive any spelling/grammar errors that I might make because I am extremely tired.
Okay, so I checked the EC/Club list, and I’m already a member of all the ones that I’m able to join and that interest me…we only have speech & debate (I’m a member), French Club (I’m a member), NHS (only open for juniors and seniors), Japanese Club, Robotics, and Japanese National Honors Society. The rest are things like “The pineapple club.” (We actually do have one of those!) It’s like this at every school in my district.
I’d love to see a Model UN club at my school, and I’m also interested in JSA, but I’ve asked around and it seems like no one has to time or interest to join these, which is really irritating.
I like the school, but I just don’t feel like it’s a good fit for me. In fact, I don’t feel like any of the public schools in the district are a good fit for me (We can choose our high schools, so during eighth grade I toured each school multiple times, talked to current students, and researched. I actually didn’t chose mine, though- my mom made me choose it.) I have the option of transferring to another school in the district at the end of the year, but out of all the schools, that was my least favorite.
I’d love to try boarding school- I’ve wanted to go since I was little, and I’m in love with Andover- but I simply don’t think that my school offers enough ECs for me to even be considered by Andover. (On top of that, my parents refuse to pay for boarding school and ugh)

<p>Man I had a hectic week this week. I had golf practice on Monday and Thursday, a golf tournament on Wednesday, marching band practice on Tuesday and a football game on Thursday. Our marching band show was supposed to be televised during halftime, but they moved us to be the post-game entertainment. The lights went out during our show so we ended up marching in complete darkness. Needless to say, I went to bed at midnight everyday.</p>
<p>Went to homecoming tonight. It was SOOOO much fun. That raises a question, when’s your homecoming? Are you going? Are you taking a date?</p>
<p>My homecoming is on October 27. I’m going but probably without a date haha.</p>
<p>You don’t need a date as a freshman. I was double minded till about 40 miinutes before it started, glad I went. Although I heard prior years were more fun.</p>
<p>Yeah, I’m not stressing about not having a date and I am positive that I’m going because I love an excuse to dress up, haha.</p>
<p>Yeah, don’t worry about dates. My freshman year, I went with a bunch of friends, and it was pretty fun. At my school, not a lot of freshman girls got asked to homecoming anyways, and if they were, they felt obligated to stay with their date the whole time instead of going to have fun with their friends.</p>
<p>Is your school obsessed with the song Gangnam style? Mine was, but now its dying down cuz it got over played.</p>
<p>We all know it, but we don’t really talk about it that much. However, it was played at the father-daughter dance last week, and everyone started dancing to it lol.</p>

<p>My school is obsessed too. The other day, my World History teacher put it on when we were done with the lesson and we all did the dance and two kids videotaped it on their phones. It was a lot of fun.</p>
<p>And my Spanish teacher put it on during class too, but I’m not sure why.</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure there is a flashmob planned sometime this week to Gangnam style. In other news, this is my last week of school before fall break. 
and Friday is my first debate tournament. Totally not ready but out of the 40 novices that will be there 9 are from my school. They entered all the novices (without asking us, mind you) and they’re assuming we’ve got a 1/4 chance of winning some awards haha. </p>
<p>Anyway the quarter almost being over also means that my grades are basically set in stone. No drastically changing it now. I was kind of disappointed to see that my lowest grade is a 94 in bio. #onlyonCC</p>
