I got my eye on CTY at John’s Hopkins or the LEAD program.</p>

A = 95-100
A- = 90-94
B+ = 87-89
B = 83-86
B- = 80-82
C+ = 77-89

<p>Something like that… I’m also sure that you can’t get an A+ according to the grading system. I don’t know why though…</p>

nah next summer, i’m just going to participate at the science museum’s high school internship program, volunteer as peer leader and teach lil kids math/science at this summer program, and also do research at one of my father’s colleague’s labs at harvard med…</p>
<p>the national youth leadership forum in criminology/law keeps sending me emails and fancy looking letters though -__- I hear it’s all basically advertising. but traveling to DC seems so much fun… If I get a scholarship I might go…</p>

<p>My school has this:
A=4.0=93-100%
A-=3.7=90-93
B+=3.3=87-89
B=3=83-86</p>
<p>And so on.
The GPA is calculated by the average of all four of your quarterly grades, so it isn’t super hard. However, we don’t weight languages as honors and an AP class only adds 0.07 to your GPA (0.56 per class where we have 8 classes over 2 days which alternate) and an honors class is 0.05 to your GPA. The best ever GPA (weighted) was 4.35 I think, but I am on track for a 4.42!</p>

<p>Oh also, I actually turned down my district high school offering me a higher GPA and more AP’s so I could go to an engineering high school, where I felt more at home. Go figure. And I’m asian. XD</p>
<p>by the way, what’s CTY? i heard its for talented kids + you have you take the SAT. my friends from extracurricular science classes have participated in the camp thing during the summer…</p>

<p>Yeah you can, but the criteria gets harder. But it is really easy. I am in my school’s gifted program and I did a 1650 and got into Intensive Studies. In 7th grade. As a 9th grader, you can get in with a PSAT of around a 150 I think, but you have to take it soon and send it into John’s Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. </p>
<p>However, don’t do it. It is 3000+ for something that will eliminate some of the better things that you said you wanted to do. It is only like a sleepaway camp for super-smart kids where you eat amazing food and then forget everything after that and get 1.0 credits per class even though it is at the “college level of excellence”.</p>
<p>oh haha. i go to a private single sex school… my parents transferred me from a pretty good math/tech focused public magnet middle school because my local public high school was very ghetto. so it’s basically like i’m living in two opposite environments… (this school none of the girls like math/science… mostly care about LV purses or what happened at the party last night… sighs =__= so math/sci cubs are nonexistent)

I started having a theoretical debate with myself over my future and past me’s and my course of actions. It was very…intense.</p>
