^ Also try to join some clubs/sports you’re genuinely interested in, so you can get some leadership under your belt by the time you’re an upperclassman.

Also as freshman, try to limit your visits to this site to once a week. There’s no reason you should be on more.

@descuff thanks :D. I’ve been stalking the college class of 2017 thread and have seen you on there so… creeper alert

Anyway, (anyone can answer this) do you guys think its possible to keep your close friends from high school even when you will probably go to college on opposite ends of the country?

I have a couple really close friends and I don’t know how it’ll work out after high school.

Stupid freshmen! LOL jk, I’m a freshman too: a college freshman! I am a graduate of the greatest class the world has ever known, the Class of 2013! If you would like tips on ANYTHING that has to do with high school, don’t hesitate to message me. My high school career was atypical, but very, very worthwhile. I attended a Philadelphia area Catholic high school for my freshman year, then transferred to a public school in the worst school district in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and then transferred back into that same Catholic school for both my junior and senior years. Those four years were the best of my life, and I’ll be more than happy to tell you how I survived and thrived. Also, my two specialties are the fact that I attended and graduated from Catholic school, and that I was popular. If you are going to Catholic school, especially in the Philadelphia area, message me! I will give you some insight on the experience compared to public school since I attended both. Finally, I will give tips to those who want to become popular. I was elected Homecoming King by my senior class, was known by EVERYBODY in my school (literally, people were saying that if you didn’t know me, then you can’t be a student at my school), had tons of friends, hung out with everybody, was invited to several parties, and had a beautiful prom date for both this year’s and last year’s senior proms. I look forward to getting to know some of you!

Also, if any of you are interested in marching band, specifically drumline, message me. I was a quint player who could play any drumline instrument (snare, quints/quads, bass drums, cymbals). I also participated in concert band.

I have a pretty garbage schedule. I think this is what my current schedule is:
Geometry
Adv American History
Adv Intro To The Physics
Adv English
Advisory
Concert Band
Business Math (Trying to turn this into Spanish I)

Self Studying: AP Human Geography, AP Environmental Science (Thinking about adding AP Psychology)

This is the hardest I can do currently <_< Class of like 1000 yet my school refuses to give me more opportunities at attempting more difficult classes. Not to mention my school offers maybe 3 APs max.

On top of my easy class schedule I’m currently doing vigorous ACT training, and soon might pick up some SAT training.

For ECs, I’ve been really into swimming lately, basically making it my life.

@Sgt My main events are 50 Free and 100 Free, but I also like to swim the 100 Breast and the 200 Free. PRobably gonna extend my events even more in the future to include mid distances along with these sprints. Not really a fan of the Fly, t I used to be a really good Fly sprinter, and I absolutely hate backstroke.

I’ll probably be doing Crossfit at 5 AM during school days, because I feel this has been helping my swimming a lot lately and it helps to keep my fit in general.

On top of this I have marching band obligations along with my attempt at getting 1st chair oboe at all state. Maybe districts in Piano.

@oboe I’m a tenth of a second off sectionals in the 50 free… Will try to get it at the next meet! I know what you mean, right now swimming is my life too. I have two hour practices in the morning and three hours in the evening. But next year three hour practices and three AP classes will not be fun. I might take the SAT again, but I doubt I can top my 2240 :(

@Sgt Sadly my team doesn’t do evening sessions, but I personally have added a smaller 1 hour session on Mondays and Wednesdays. I’ve really multiplied the amount of dryland exercises, such as crossfit. I wanna do Yoga/Pilates at least 1-2 times a week, and strength training 3-4.

But yeah I’m really lacking in evening session regard, but I must make do with what I have I suppose. Soon I might starting swimming in the mornings at a big pool nearly which lots of people attend just for enjoyment.

I must say though. This is like my first year where I can say I’m giving it my all, before it was more like I felt forced.

@Oboefreak Ya, but make sure you participate in a club for interest, not just to get into Harvard. Just wondering, what college do you want to go to and what do you want to become (major in)?
