Our vending machines are actually pretty good. We have two, one dedicated to chips/snacks/etc while the other one has Gatorade/water/some other brand drinks, and only some of our teachers allow only water (Unfortunately for me though, every one of my teachers except one has that rule.)

Are you looking at colleges both in the US and Canada? (If i remember correctly, I believe UoT and Waterloo are pretty good for engineering in Canada; that is, if you’re interested in the field.) And I’m in the US, by the way.

@Applier Yeah, I’m planning on doing the IB program, mainly because I’m really interested in going to college in the US. I’m in love with Yale (have been for a while now), but you know how hard it is to get in and such, so I am of course looking at schools here. My father attended McGill, and from what he’s told me (very little) it’s a rather good school, but I would have to improve my French a lot. Waterloo is very good though, and so is McMaster (depending on your major of course). I don’t know, it just seems like there is more options and choices in the colleges in the US.

What clubs/ECs are you guys in/want to do? So far I have
-Tae Kwon Do (will go to tournaments and hopefully win trophies).
-Science Olympiad
-HOSA
-Key Club
-I may write a book.
-Will volunteer at a hospital (I may even get to volunteer at Emory!)
-I’m thinking of doing something relating to aquarium fish (since I am an expert on keeping aquariums), but I haven’t thought of anything yet.

That’s so cool you want to do Tae Kwon Do! I’ve been doing Kung fu for almost ten years now, and even though we don’t do competitions, it’s great!

I’m in the crew team (coxswain), going to do mock trial, I think school spirit, multiple school plays/musicals, and whatever else I decide to do!

Art Club
And possibly Anime Club
As for summer or other activities, I’m gonna start taking piano lessons and I’m looking forward to participating in Various science related activities outside and inside of school. You’re so lucky… You have a Science Olypmad program and I don’t lol

Good question!
I already have done some volunteer work over the summer, and have well over the required number of hours that is needed to graduate, so I guess that’s a plus. But I plan on being apart of:
-Writing Club (not sure about this yet, I’m going to look into it)
-Debate Club
-Key Club
-Student Council
That’s all I’m looking into right now, but I feel like I might join more throughout the years, or even this year. I also am interested in joining a team, perhaps Field Hockey or Track and Field.

I’m a swimmer, so I’ll probably continue that and do fewer days a week/show up late. (Meaning 5 days of 2 hour practices instead of 7 days of 3).

I have a bunch of unfinished story ideas floating around in my computer and head, and I could do something with those.

I might join a literary or writing club at school, or even the SAT club (mwahaha).

I actually quit piano last year and now can practice whenever I feel like it (ten minutes a week, haha).

Unfortunately I haven’t done any volunteer work so I really should pick up on that. And me in student government would be a disaster.

^ You don’t really need volunteer work as an EC, so don’t feel like you HAVE to volunteer. I’m not saying it’s a bad EC though. And if you’re volunteering just for the sake of volunteering, then that’s great.

How’s High School going so far? I’m starting next week. My excitement is slowly deteriorating as my wait is prolonged. I find it incredibly superfluous.

Alright, so my school doesn’t offer AP classes, but I am enrolled in the ALP program (Accelerated Learning Program), which basically is fast paced, slightly more difficult courses than the normal academic courses everyone else takes. But, I am going to be doing the IB program in my junior and senior years so it’s recommended that you do this program beforehand, to experience the faster paced learning style. So, I just take all the classes I have to (we have no choice over what classes we take in grade 9) which is, Geography, Science, Gym, Drama, Math, English, Tech (mandatory, although I don’t want to take it) and French. All the classes are ALP classes though, so I guess it isn’t too bad.

As for clubs, tomorrow I am attending a meeting for the Free the Children club, which I just found out existed at our school today! I am really excited to go and look into it, I think I will really enjoy it. Also, I am waiting to hear about meetings for the Debate Club, Writing Club, and a few others. I think I’m just going to attend the meetings for the clubs I think I would like and go from there.

That’s really cool. Sounds like your fruition is serious; not to mention your expectations and goals are something to look forward to because I believe that you’ll reach them
I also thank you; for you have gotten me even more excited to start my freshman year next week :D

Don’t be that one kid who crowds the halls to talk and goof around with their friends.
But seriously, enjoy highschool and make the best out of your freshman year! I think each year is just gonna get a little harder and harder after that.
