Wow. My boys are both taking AP Stat. The only other APs available to sophomores at our school are AP World History, AP Bio and AP Psych.
AP HuG, AP World, AP Psych, AP Microeconomics and AP Eurp
Not taking any until junior year unless I take the IB route.
@NCgirl2015 bruh, if only those were actually classes. I would get perfect scores on every one. LOL, imagine what the FRQs would look like.
AP chem, AP Spanish, AP world
AP CHEM, AP EURO, APUSH, AP STATS
Wtf I already commented
APUSH, Calc3/DiffEQ, AP Stats (self-study), AP Physics (self-study), AP CS (self-study)
Probably none… I feel like such an underachiever
But AP Art History if enough people signed up, and maybe AP Computer Science or AP Statistics if my counselor lets me take them.
AP Psych, APWH, either AP Physics 1 or AP Bio, and either AP Stats or Calc III and Differential Equations or Linear Algebra or something if I can work out transportation to the college.
I could also take AP Computer Science online, but I think my time would be much better spent just programming on my own.
@LosingCrayon There is a free AP Computer Science MOOC from a course provider called Amplify. This is what I am using if my class doesn’t make again. For some reason none of the kids at my school sign up. Hope that halfway solves your dilemma! :-bd
@Hamlon can you Private message me a link (I’ll be self-studying AP Comp Sci)? Thanks you so much if you can!
@apple1893 I just went back to the website. I think the first two years the MOOC existed was some sort of test run because now your school has to pay for it. Sorry! I am kind of bummed out because I was counting on using this too. I did a quick search and found some other alternatives. EdX has many intro to Java courses with a couple directed towards High Schoolers. I think one is called Preparing for the AP Computer Science Exam or something like that. The website is entirely free. Another option is the Teen Coder Java Series. It isn’t free, but looks legit. The final resource I stumbled upon was from a guy named Bradley Kjell at Central Connecticut State University. The course is called Introduction to Computer Science using Java. It says on the website that it aligns with the curriculum for a typical AP Computer Science class. Hope this helps you out! I’ll PM you the links. :-bd
How are you guys able to get into all those AP classes? AP European History is the only AP option for sophomores. Stuff like AP Stats, Chem, Calc, Physics are require a bunch of prereqs.
@Hamlon I have lots of experience with edx but I wasn’t a fan of their AP Comp Sci prep classes from the Cooper Union (because the explaing was very bad). I am currently using a website called Udemy and a course called Decoding the AP Computer Science Exam! The instructor is really good! Thanks for all the info btw.
AP euro history and Ap computer science
Ap Chem
Ap world history
Ap psychology
@geekygeek I’m only taking 3 Aps but to get into those classes I took extra classes. Started at the end of the 9th grade school year and finished before summer break ended. I used Fl virtual school.
Just taking AP euro, it’s the only AP available to sophs at my school
I’m a freshman but in my sophomore year I will be taking AP Gov’t and AP Physics 1
Y’all are crazy
when I was a sophomore, the only AP I was allowed to take was Chinese (I wasn’t a math genius, and I wasn’t interested in CS). I like the ambition and your schools’ open enrollment policies, but please be careful.
