High School Class of 2018

@Cookiesandcreme‌ Here’s mine!

H English
H Geography // H Economics
AP Calculus BC
AP Biology
H Principles of Engineering
H French 5-6
H Academic Decathalon

Is your Volleyball class connected to being on the team or is it just a specific PE class?

@wonderfulreads‌ I’m on the team in my school you can take a sport in place of P.E but since volleyball is seventh period I get an extra spot in my schedule. Also really awesome schedule!

Hey fellow freshmen!
It looks like we’re posting schedules, so my schedule next year is:
Debate (zero hour)
Honors Spanish 2
Honors Biology
AP Calc BC
AP Computer Science
Drafting and Design (pretty much CAD)
AP Physics C or Orchestra, haven’t decided
Honors English 10 (online)
Student Athlete Fitness (online)

My schedule for next year:
H Pre-Cal
H Chem
H English II
H US History I
AP Bio
AP Stat

Also, online I’m taking:
H French II (Don’t really like the French teacher at my school and there is no honors French II, so I can get honors credits with a good teacher)
AP Computer Science (Not offered @ school)
AP Microeconomics

I have an interest of taking AP Spanish Language instead of taking Spanish 3 next year. Or do you have to take Spanish 3 in order to take AP right?

But I didn’t go to the AP meeting at my school.

@cxprus‌ I don’t know how it goes at your school, but at least at my school you go:
Spanish 1 (8th)
Spanish 2 (9th)
Spanish 3 (10th)
Spanish 4 (11th)
AP Spanish (12th)
So jumping straight to AP Spanish sounds difficult (unless you were a native speaker). Can you just ask your Spanish teacher?

I’m taking calc next year as a soph… Any other people who were in the same spot have any advice for the future?

@wonderfulreads: Here is my school’s Spanish course system:
9th: Spanish 1 - Spanish 2 (if the teacher recommends it or if the person got a good grade on it)
10th: Spanish 2 or Spanish 3 (if Spanish 2 is passed)
11th: AP Spanish Lang
12th: AP Spanish Literature

But at my school, the students only have to take 2 years.

Well my parents speak it and I mostly speak it at home fluently. But outside of home, I speak English and my English is highly fluent. The plus here is that I get a good grade in Spanish 2. (passed it with an A last semester)

So that class isn’t challenging for me but I didn’t go to the AP meeting and it was required if the person was planning to take AP’s next year, ugh.

@cxprus Ah. Well then it sounds like your ready for it. Could you talk to your counselor about it? I’m sure other AP exceptions have been made (probably?).

Anyways, best of luck!

I’m debating if I should join AVID or ASB next year. I might apply or ASB Comissioner (Technology) but is it gonna look good for my EC’s for college apps? Any advice appreciated please. Thank you!

Wow, some of your schedules are intense.

My schedule will be:
AP Physics
AP European History
Biology H
English 10H
Math Analysis H (basically Pre-calc)
Photography
Mandarin 2

This year, I took:
Mandarin 1
Algebra 2H
Chemistry H
Spanish 2
PE (required for freshman)
English 9H

Is anyone else here planning on doing IB in 11th and 12th grades?

I might do IB depending on how good I do next year.

My school just has ap, no ib.

My fall tentative schedule is so interesting and I don’t know if it’s good for sophomore year:
H English 10
H World History
Geometry
Spanish 3
PE 2
Biology (I requested Honors but I have a feeling it’s not gonna happen even though i work hard in my current science class)
Teen Health (requested first semester) - Theater B (second)
Speech (my program’s elective - but i want to change it)

Alright then. Schedule it is!
IB Math HL I (death?)
IB French I (hopefully…)
HN English 10 (ridiculously easy class #1)
AP Gov (50 page summer assignment here I come…)
PE (shudder)
IB Chem (ridiculously easy class #2)
Band (ridiculously easy class #3)

So it’s like 3 classes of drowning and 4 classes of total relaxation? Eh not bad

@siguy27‌ cry into your pillow the day before school. I’ll be crying right there with you

@gonfaloniere‌ How can you take those IB classes in sophomore year? My school lets us take IB Math HL 1 in senior (and that’s for advanced kids, most take AP Calc/Math Studies IB). Math HL 1 is actually not that hard, since it’s considered easier than AP Calc. And is IB Chem really that easy? My school says it’s a really hard class, that’s why more kids take IB Bio.

@gonfaloniere How are you in IB as a sophomore?

@gonfaloniere I’ll also join you in a crying session can we have an ah-men!

I dont have to worry about IB yet. :smirk: I’ll pray for your souls though.
