High School Class of 2021

@pointelessness thanks now I have stress about presenting this essay

@pointelessness no clue.

@pointelessness I don’t know either lol.

@birdbear No need to stress about it. The more you do the scarier it’ll seem. Just have fun and try to be as human as possible!

@birdbear That’s so awesome! Great job!

@birdbear you can do it!! Just remember to have fun :slight_smile:

Thanks for the support

I hope you get through this. Know there are people out there that are capable of understanding and caring. Look for those people. Ridiculous people (like the counselor) are unimportant. YOU matter. YOU are important.

@pointelessness I know you asked me like two pages back lol but no, my dream school is no longer Notre Dame (that was back when I was thinking pre med). they don’t even offer the major that I really want atm. that’s why it’s frustrating that they don’t let you change your username or delete your account lol

Just an update. Last night was the finals for my essay and speech competition. I came in first!!!

@birdbear Good job!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

anyone get their AP scores back? I got a 5 on APWH (my only freshman AP) and I’m really happy bc I spent a month or so freaking out that I got a 3-4 lmao

also @birdbear this is… kind of late, but congrats on your win!!!

@chrysalism congrats on ap world!! i got a 5 on human geography and im so relieved because i was low key freaking out baha

Hey everyone, thought I’d join the thread. What’s everyone doing this summer? I’m volunteering at my local hospital - will have 100 hours b4 summer ends, volunteering at a campaign, and focusing on summer work and soccer. I’m taking AP world and there’s so much summer hw. Hope everyone’s having a good summer.

Hey guys did anyone take the June Sat Bio?
I just checked the scores…

@whoknowswhere25 Hey, welcome to the thread! :slight_smile:

I’m involved a leadership training program/various community service projects related to it (once completed it lets you serve on an official county government board, which is very cool), volunteering at a STEM camp for elementary schoolers, running a tutoring business (I have 4 clients so far and it pays surprisingly well, would recommend!), and taking two online classes (English II and The Mandatory PE/Health Class From Hell).

Sounds like you’re having a great summer! AP World is a super interesting class IMO. If I may ask, what’s your World summer work? (Mine last year was to read & analyze King Leopold’s Ghost, and now they’ve changed it to some book about the Rwandan genocide)

@chrysalism your leadership program seems really cool!

My AP world hw is honestly the most random stuff. First, we have to write an argument on why history is important. Second, we listen to a Ted Talk, take notes, and summarize it. Third, we create a map of the entire world (from a blank piece of paper), and label certain things. We have to study the map too bc there will be a map quiz the first day of school. Then we have to read 4 articles and write 4 essays. Lastly, we do textbook stuff. We have to read 6 chapters, take notes on them, take 2 tests, and write 2 more essays. tbh, the work isn’t that hard just time consuming and I’m a big procastinator.

@caligirl51515 hey!! I’m taking that in August since I finished AP Biology during my freshman year. How did you think it went for you?? How is the test like in general?

@whoknowswhere25 Hi! I’m new here too! This summer, I am working in my non-profit that I founded (a STEM related one), continuing my science research at a local state university, volunteering at the hospital, and preparing for two SAT subject tests in August and one in October. What about everyone else?

New here, but see people are discussing summer stuff and thought I’d say hi!

Been working on my writing, helping a pretty popular political candidate as a press intern, volunteering at a local program for underprivileged youth, and working as a barista at Starbucks.

Also, anyone else here taking AP euro this year? I’m struggling with the summer homework bc there’s a ton but at least there’s about a month or so left of summer to do it.
