High School Freshman

Hello all,
I attend a cyber/charter school that is fairly large. A branch of that cyber school is an on-site, advanced learning center. Basically, I attend a brick and mortar school 2-3 days of the week and the rest of my days are spent at home. My teachers give assignments and projects for me to work on the days I am not at school, so the time management is a bit differnent that a traditional high school. A bit more like college. Anyways, I would love some advice from people on what my course of action should be throughout high school. I am the oldest in my family, so my parents and I have no experiance in the college prep process.
Classes I have previously completed:
Honors Alg. I-7th Grade
Honors Bio- 8th Grade
Honors Geometry- 8th Grade
I also took Honors Algebra II over the summer through the John Hopkins CTY program.
I have completed Spanish 1 and 2.
I got all A’s or A-'s in those classes
Current GPA: 4.1 W

This year I am taking:
APUSH (Should I sit for the exam?)
Honors American Lit
Honors Chem
Honors Pre-Calc
Latin I

EC’s:
Model UN
Student Council
Club Soccer (my school does not have a team)
I also work during the school year.
I volunteer through my church regularly.

What EC’s look good on transcripts? I am assuming you I should, in the future, try to become VP or President of some clubs. Anything else?

I am not set on getting into a super competitive school and I know that SAT and ACT scores have a lot to do with that, but I do want to go to a good, large school.

This is also my first post, so if I did something wrong, please feel free to tell me
THANKS!

I remember being a freshman and being super worried as well. Youre obviously motivated and are taking advanced courses. Definitely take the APUSH exam to get college credit. There are no ECs that look good on a transcript. If you really like something, like writing or a sport, then dedicate time to it and stand out from your peers. I personally love music, so I play the viola. Good luck!!

Is it wrong to bump? xD

I dont think bumping will make much of a difference since people on College Confidential dont really take ambicious 9th graders very seriously…

@divinggirl6 hahaha, I would say you’re right but look at me commenting on this. Oh well. To manspeak- you’re a freshman. There’s nothing wrong with being enthusiastic about the college application process, but keep in mind that things will change, and that you have a long way to go. I thought I was a shooing for Harvard my freshman year, then AP Chem kicked my rear end and a 28 ACT brought me back to Earth. So dream high but don’t forget to have fun in high school. It’s the freest you’ll ever be without actual responsibilities- so live it up.
To answer your prompt (which is a tad drawn out I must admit), I would take as many honors/AP classes as you can as long as you’re receiving high marks and keeping up with your classmates. Don’t feel defeated if you need to cut back on the APs in a year or two; a high GPA is more important than filling your schedule to the brim with academic rigor. This being said, I wish you and your youthful self the best of luck in hs and beyond.

Thanks xD I appreciate it.
