If I continue to do what I am doing, can I get into Harvard, UCLA, UCB, or any of the top ten schools?

Too early to tell...how are u already in AP bio? thats like a junior/seenior class...do u mean honors? , your only a freshman and nobody looks at freshman year. Don't worry it looks great, it's too early to freak out. Keep it up

Harvard is a good two tiers above any UC.
You're proally in at all the UC's if you continue your hard work, but no way you'll be guaranteed at HYPMS.

oh i am in AP bio becuz at my school, its a magnet high school. That way, in freshmen year, the highest we can take is intro to cp science. If you score a 95% or higher, and i got 101% because the class is so awesomely easy, you automatically get into AP bio without the exams. By doing this, i would automatically get into AP chem 11th grade, and AP Physics 12th grade without the exams. Freshmen year is really easy, and plus, our school's system works on a .20 boost.. so if u have three honors and straight A's, u would get a 4.6 easily. Me, the highest for freshmen this year is a 4.20 because we can only take one honors. I hope that answer your question, and plus I'm enjoying high school but at the same time, working hard to fulfill my dreams of getting into Harvard. Thanks so much for replying. You guys are awesome!

I know youre just a freshman now, but you have nothing special that would get you into Harvard. Sorry. It's the truth though. Also, it really depends where you live into order to get into UCLA/UCB. Are you a Cali resident? If so, you're in; if not, you're not in. Good job, and good luck to you though! =)

Even if you continue what you're doing, and stay on your EC's, get leadership positions etc, no one can evaluate you for HYPSM any accurately then you yourself can.

Keep it up, don't worry so much about college, that can wait until late sophomore year at the earliest. Focus more on high school for now.

What do you want to major in?

^ and you brought back a post that is a month old, because?

You must have gone some pages back there.

I hate when freshmen do this. Some colleges even completely IGNORE freshman year. Just keep doing what you're doing and check back around your Jr or Sr year.

Keep doing AP and if you want to get into Harvard, you're going to have to be a little deeper. You need to do something in those clubs of yours. You can be a member of anything and still not even have to go to the meetings.

asiancracker:

UCLA/UCB: Too early to tell
Harvard: Too early to tell (it'll be a reach anyways)

go away freshman. No offense but you shouldn't be here yet. Don't spend your high school career trying to get into Harvard or just trying to get in somewhere prestigious because by the time you get there it may not be what you want. For now, find out what you like academically and what your future goals are and pursue them. Get involved and work hard and it'll pay off. Have a good time and do what you like then come back after your sophmore year and start planning on getting in to college. If you try now you'll just confuse yourself for later. Colleges can tell if you're doing stuff just to get in.

ENJOY LIFE! Please, for everyone's sanity, especially yours, don't think about college now. You've just begun HIGH SCHOOL! Focus on being the best you can be and developing your relationships with friends and teachers. It is way too hard to evaluate you right now because you haven't taken any qualifying standardized tests.
Worst case scenario: You spend all of high school striving for Harvard only to wind up with a rejection letter (this could be likely for anyone). Then where do you go from there? Your life's goal is shattered when you spent so much time trying to acheive it...and you could have been, you know, HAVING FUN!
Live for the present, not for the future!

enjoy life?.....naaaaaah you'll have plenty of time to enjoy after high school. The harder you work in the next four years, the more enjoyable the rest of your life is going to be.

Btw, what would you guys consider to be something "special" enough to get into an IVY?

Man, what are you smoking sup? Enjoy high school. It'll probably some of the best times of your life. All you need to do is try to take the hardest classes you can and try to do as well as you can in those classes. Just because you're a good student doesn't mean you can't enjoy highschool. Go to a dance. Hang out with friends. Go to a theme park (if you have any around). Play some video games. Party. Have some fun.

sup: In order to gareuntee admission into an Ivy you'll need something hecka outstanding. Like being a published author, Intel STS winner, etc. Or you can have a lot of money and buy your way in. But for everybody else, you know, the "average joe" (good SAT/SATII/AP scores, good GPA, good rank, good EC's), it is still largely a crapshoot.

Some other advice-

Just because you hear 'Harvard' all over the place doesn't mean its the best school for you. You may hate the athmosphere and I can tell you there are better Computer Science programs elsewhere (ahem U of Tulsa :D)! Just, relax. Keep busy, but do only what you enjoy. Doing stuff only for college sake is NOT worth it.

this guy is a troll

are you KIDDING me??????????

hey man... Harvard hates you...and everyone at Harvard is going to make fun of you...and...ull work all these four years only to be rejected, and then ull have a panic attack when u get the small little envelope...then ull get depression and then they will have to send you to a mental institution where u will never be visited by any friends because u dont have them.
ENJOY your life

you have no chance at Harvard....i mean you haven't even cured cancer yet....caustic, i know, but c'mon freshman

and umm.. im sureu noticed, but its supposed to be highschool freshmAn not freshmen... oh lord.. what did u get in spelling, or did u just use spellcheck?
