I’m a junior in high school taking three AP’s (not doing so well in them) and I just feel so stressed and I always feel like I can’t finish school and my grades are so bad I will never get into a good college. I try to motivate myself but I just can’t I feel so hopeless and I just don’t really care anymore it’s gotten to the point where I missed a week of school just because I couldn’t wake up and face everything at school. What should I do I’m so hopeless
Keep trying! This is what your doing to get into college right? If it’s really bothering you, try and take solace in things you enjoy. The are a break once in a while when your work is done. It’ll make you feel very refreshed. :)>- :)>-
Sounds rough. It’s probably too late to change levels, so here’s some potential courses of action.

Speak to your teachers or counselors. Ultimately they’re the ones dishing out the material; tell them you’re struggling and ask if they have any suggestions for better ways to cope with the workload. Odds are they’ve been teaching this stuff long enough to have been asked this before.

Bullet journaling. Speaking from experience, sometimes rigorous self-organization is all you need to get back on track. This method can be kind of fun too. It’s a neat and structured way to plan out your days and monitor what is due, upcoming events, to-do lists. It’s also a personal journal; working on it may help alleviate some negative feelings you’re experiencing. Quizlet.com. Great for flash cards. Repetition is an excellent tool for studying, particularly if you’re a visual learner. Speaking of which, what are you, visual, auditory, or kinesthetic? If you don’t know, I suggest you look into it. Even small changes to tailor your learning and studying more to your type of brain can be REALLY helpful.
-
Music. Sounds weird, but if you like it, you can rely on it to get you up in the morning (I do), get you through long hours of studying. Music is a powerful stress reliever and relaxant for the brain, or source of stimulation if you need it.
-
Work with friends. If you won’t get distracted, get together at your school’s library or media center if there is one, or even just work together after school. Having other people there can motivate you to keep at it and can be sources of information.
-
Fix goals. Having things to work towards is essential, even if they’re simple. Having goals outside of school is important too (some achievement in running, writing, coding, etc) and can help maintain some level of sanity even in the midst of school stress.
-
Take breaks while you work. Fifteen minute breaks whilst studying can help your brain retain information.
-
Use khan academy or other supplementary sources online. Listen to audiobooks if need be. Surround yourself with the information you’re learning and try to make it interesting. The more you see and hear it, the more you’ll learn it.
-
Research the colleges you’re interested it. You may be surprised by what their requirements are. If you’re struggling with academics, maybe beef up your extracurricular involvement or hours of volunteering in the community.
-
Have courage. You’re halfway there. Don’t give up.
