What does your last name start with ? StudiousMaximus?

Congrats StudiousMaximus

Please post your stats

@quantumbyte: I doubt there’s any relation between last name and acceptance notification. Hoctopi and I have last names from disparate parts of the alphabet.

Thank you, biovball!

To help future applicants, here’s a quick rundown of my stats.

SAT: 2400
PSAT: 240
Subject Tests: 800 Bio-M, 800 Math Level 2
AP Tests: Bio (5), World History (5)
Grades: 4.0 UW, 4.67 W
Rank: 1/333
Activities: A lot of leadership (multiple club presidencies and such), some science fair awards, significant debate involvement and awards, some math & science competition stuff (school-wide, so not a big deal), some volunteering, a lot of quizbowl invovement & awards, and varsity tennis.
Essays: Strong. I was a little worried, however, because I wrote my second essay on an art history book. Guess it was fine after all!
Recs: Good. I sent three (Calc BC, AP Chem, and AP Bio). I have good relationships with all three, so I imagine they were very positive.
State: Virginia

@StudiousMaximus check your Facebook

when did you send in your application?

I sent my application in two parts. The recs and transcript arrived in the mail the day before. I emailed the rest within an hour of the deadline.

Hopefully not all of the decisions have been sent out

guys, they are probably taking out the people they really were impressed by, and are sure that will be offered admission, and then now are deliberating on a smaller group of people to decide who to finally take.

Those who got accepted, let us know which state you are from. Anyone from the west coast ?

lacrossegirl123, congrats. lots of acceptances for you! but just saying…with all the rejectees, you could be a lil more gracious about it. not everyone has been accepted into all these programs…

@readyfor2014: I’m still not convinced that she’s not a ■■■■■. Don’t take her replies to heart.

Anyway, I started the Facebook group. PM me with proof of your acceptance, and I’ll send you the link!

Definitely a ■■■■■ – no one gets into every program. If you check the facebook groups you can see that there isn’t a female that is in all of them.

have there been rejections yet?

@Studious: BAHAHAHA, you probably scared half of the people on here to death with your stats. Can’t wait to see you there! :D

Here are mine, for those who asked:

So I haven’t heard anything still, but I’m going to post my stats and stuff now so when I get my acceptance/likely rejection you guys can see it without me having to post it under a waterfall of tears.

Essays: felt pretty good about them, and I’m usually pretty hard on myself
Recs: both glowing

No research experience though :(

Wait guysss you can only let them know your EC’s through essays/LORs right? I remember that there was no place for activities/awards on the application… did anyone send in a resume?

Don’t sound as if ‘no research experience’ is a bad thing! The most I’ve ever had research-wise have been my past science fair projects (which went absolutely horribly, by the way).

@Hoctopi haha well at least you did science fair stuff! I didn’t do anything except science olympiad, which went horribly

@pleiotropy
i sent one but I don’t know if they’ll look at it.
