You can try, but personally, I think applying late doesn’t reflect well on your personality … They care more about essays than grades and scores, as do most college and program adcoms. Except maybe RSI’s. So if you want to spend a week writing essays, getting a list of all books/magazinesnyou read last year, and getting teacher recs fast … I doubt it would be fruitful but you have to try if you want any chance at all.

She sounded understanding. I told her I just found out about it.

Then it can’t hurt to apply!

Does anyone know about how many applicants there are this year? Also, does being a qualified underrepresented minority count for anything? I’m hispanic, I have a 4.0uw, 6 APs, and I broke 2300s when I took SATs first this March. I’m extremely interested in biochemistry and reflected my interests and experience in my essays. What do you guys think?

Of course it does! And I don’t think I’m qualified I’m an ORM, 3.7 UW GPA, 2030 SAT, 3 APs so far

Seems good to me.

You think that’s competitive?

Again, they want passion not numbers. Get some killer recs and write some awesome essays.

I can’t afford it anyway and I won’t get any FA…

If you won’t get any FA, then that means you probably can, by pulling a few strings if needed, afford it. Or are they not letting you apply for FA?

I know I won’t qualify and there’s no way my family will pay that much :(

Oh I see, well I make around $40k a year with a sibling in college, do you think I’d qualify for FA?

Stuff came out on April 10 back on 2008… has anyone gotten anything?

Anyone get in yet?

And the deadline was April 1 then, too? I find it extremely difficult to believe that decisions would be made within ten days, unless they started sending out rejection notifications in batches.

Yes, their postmark date was the same. I’m assuming the number of applicants has skyrocketed (that seems to be a trend this time around for every program), but I think someone on CC could get something within the week.

Just got the email. Didn’t get in.

I was accepted!

Only 2 CCers got a response? I haven’t gotten anything so far :(

I assume it’s rolling, so don’t worry.

I will be attending HSHSP over my state’s Governor’s School because I got over 85% in need-based aid. Good luck to you all!

i haven’t even gotten a confirmation email from them about my application…
