High School Math Help!!!

Hi there,
I'm currently a junior and in honors alg 2 (my school does not offer advanced maths for younger students, the highest math I could be in right now would be precalc, but i am not). I'm an ok math student but not great... next year I have the option of taking honors precalc or alg3 and trig. If i take honors precalc I know I will not do that great... probably like a low B. I know if I take alg3 and trig i will get high A's. I don't want to take precalc but I am worried if I don't I will not be a competitive applicant for JMU or American University. Can anyone offer some guidance?

If you’re doing good in Algebra 2, you’ll do fine in PreCalc as long as you study. Challenge yourself. Take PreCalc as long as you’re willing to put in the effort to get an A or a high B. However, if you don’t think you can put in the effort, take Algebra 3 and Trig.
Don’t sabotage yourself. Take what you feel you can succeed in the best.

Consider other factors as well. If precalc is a mix of random topics (I remember my precalc class included learning how to read bar codes, for instance), algebra and trig will probably set you up with a much better foundation for future work in mathematics, especially if you could still use some work in those areas.
